Freedom Drive is a Roguelike Bullet Heaven that has a cool twist of driving a car. At first, I did not know how I felt about the game because the top-down view and fast movement gave me a headache. I did like the game after playing it for an hour and getting into the right mindset, but this was three weeks ago, and the game has changed a lot since, for the better. I meant to write this review a week ago, but things came up.
Steam Deck
This game works flossy on the Steam Deck with no issues that I can see. It also looks very nice on the Steam Deck. If you are looking for another bullet heaven that is different than others for the Steam Deck, I recommend trying Freedom Drive out.
Issues that I faced and What was fixed.
Well, playing, I did see that there were a lot of significant changes. I did tell the dev what problems I faced, like being stuck as the RC car and not knowing when I was an RC car. This is now fixed, and when the car turns into an RC car, your car is super tiny. Another problem I had was the fast movement, but after playing today, it felts a lot better. I do not know what was changed 100%, but it felt much better. The last I faced was that I was immortal but stuck in an RC car. Which meant I had no weapons when the boss spawned in, and I think the other vehicles killed the boss, but it took a very long time. This immortal bug is a weird bug that does not always happen, so I can not test it to see if this has been fixed. If it has not been fixed, the dev is working on it. The dev is always looking for feedback, so if you want to try this game, there is a demo. If you have any feedback, then please let the dev know in the discussions on Steam or join the discord and give feedback there.
Overview
I think this is a unique and fun bullet heaven. It is still in Early Access, so that the game will improve with every update. I can not wait to see the game is like when the full release comes out. I always like playing games in Early Access and returning when it is fully released, but I plan to play this more during the early access when I have free time. I recommend adding the Turkish language so that the Turkish player community will show more interest in the game.
Респект за концепт - ВАМПАИР СУРВАИВАЛ НО СО ВКУСОМ И НА МАШИНЕ, но играется вяло, зачем-то ещё и стреляют все в нас. https://youtu.be/MLsQHHdy8Uk
