Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 18 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Basic HOG that gets a lot of things right but has a few rough edges. Good points are that's it's bug free, a decent length, has fair HO scenes, has collectibles, has fast travel & backtracking, and has an unusual set of minigames. Bad points are that the translation is a bit rough, the minigame instructions are inadequate, and the graphics are showing their age on modern monitors. The story is basically 'colonialism is bad' but delivered with the aid of some dubious stereotypes. On the whole I enjoyed it and it was worth the heavily discounted price.

I was disappointed, it seemed much older than it actually is. Game play was clunky and seemed to go sooo sloooow in dialogue scenes. The puzzle instructions were too simple and made some of the puzzles hard to figure out. If you just like the puzzles and hidden object scenes then pick it up on sale.
Annoying Gameplay Stopped After 11 Minutes.
Forgotten Places: Regained Castle is a traditional hidden-object adventure that leans heavily into gothic mystery, slow-burn storytelling, and methodical puzzle solving, offering a calm but atmospheric experience that feels rooted in classic point-and-click design. From the outset, the game establishes a somber tone by drawing players into the personal history of its protagonist, Jane, whose past is deeply entangled with an old castle and the secrets it contains. Rather than rushing the player forward, the game allows its narrative to unfold gradually, using exploration and environmental details to build a sense of lingering unease and curiosity that steadily pulls you deeper into its world. The castle itself is the true centerpiece of the experience, presented as a sprawling collection of interconnected locations that feel abandoned, weathered, and full of forgotten stories. Each screen is carefully illustrated with a high level of detail, encouraging close inspection during object searches and puzzle interactions. Crumbling halls, shadowy gardens, underground passages, and ornate rooms all contribute to a setting that feels cohesive and deliberately paced. The visual style favors clarity over excess clutter, which helps hidden-object scenes remain readable while still feeling dense and atmospheric. Accompanying music reinforces this mood, relying on subdued, melancholic themes that quietly underscore the sense of mystery without overpowering the gameplay. Gameplay follows the familiar hidden-object formula, combining static scene exploration with inventory-based puzzles, mini-games, and logic challenges. Object-finding segments are interspersed with moments where items must be used creatively within the environment, preventing the experience from becoming a simple checklist exercise. The puzzles themselves vary in complexity, with some offering straightforward solutions and others requiring careful thought, experimentation, or revisiting earlier areas with newly acquired tools. This structure encourages attentive exploration and rewards players who pay close attention to environmental clues rather than rushing from one objective to the next. One notable aspect of the design is the amount of backtracking involved. Progress often requires moving between multiple locations to apply items or unlock new interactions, which can feel deliberate and immersive for players who enjoy slow exploration, but potentially tedious for those who prefer a more streamlined experience. Thankfully, a map system helps ease this process by allowing quick navigation between previously visited areas, reducing frustration while maintaining the sense of scale within the castle. The built-in hint system further supports accessibility, ensuring that players are rarely left completely stuck even if a puzzle’s logic is not immediately clear. While the overall experience is engaging, some elements reflect the game’s traditional roots and may feel dated to modern audiences. Interactions can occasionally feel imprecise, with certain hotspots requiring careful placement, and the interface lacks the polish seen in more recent entries in the genre. The absence of voice acting places full emphasis on written dialogue, which suits the quiet, introspective tone but can slow pacing for players who prefer more dynamic storytelling. These issues do not undermine the core experience, but they do reinforce the game’s identity as a classic, methodical hidden-object adventure rather than a modern reinvention of the genre. In the end, Forgotten Places: Regained Castle succeeds by delivering exactly what it sets out to provide: a moody, puzzle-driven journey through a mysterious castle filled with secrets, memories, and subtle supernatural undertones. Its strength lies in atmosphere, visual detail, and a steady rhythm that values observation and patience over spectacle. Players who appreciate traditional hidden-object games, thoughtful puzzles, and gothic storytelling will find it a satisfying and immersive experience, while those seeking fast-paced gameplay or heavy innovation may find it more reserved. As a genre piece, it stands as a solid and carefully crafted example of classic hidden-object design done with care and consistency. Rating: 7/10
Relaxing and yet challenging. Fun story line. Very engaging.
It's ok. Not my favorite, a bit clunky, but still a nice way to use time.
