About

Fool’s Road is a turn-based roguelike strategy game inspired by chess. Instead of playing identical pieces, you build and lead a medieval army.
Become a Commander of your own class and shape your army around your fantasy. Recruit and train unique units as you progress, facing tactical challenges along the way. Every run is a new campaign, and every decision matters.
This isn’t about memorizing openings or perfect moves, it’s about building an army that reflects your playstyle and adapting to what the road throws at you.

Chess Inspired Tactical Combat
Familiar grid-based battles with custom units, abilities, and bosses that break traditional chess rules.
Roguelike Army Building

Class Based Playstyles
Choose your role and live your class fantasy, build armies focused on brute force, strategy, control, or balance.
Challange Encounters
Face encounters that test your army composition and tactical planning.
Chill, Thoughtful Gameplay
Turn based pacing with no time pressure, plan your moves, experiment, and enjoy the journey.

Very interesting take on a chess game. It has good potential. Keep up the good work.
I agree with the other reviewers that the game has potential, but there is also still lots of work to be done to make it more professional and more enjoyable. For example, there are almost no sentences without some sort of misspelling. At this point in development the game is also very easy for anyone with half a decent grasp on chess. The opponent frequently plays bad or silly moves blundering pieces or allowing checkmates. Playable on steamdeck. At this point I don't believe it's worth its price yet, but with enough effort by the developer this could change. I wish you succes!
Cool game, I wish it get more update (firstly with russian language), and more hype, h=it have more potential, but it need more mechanics and random ♥♥♥♥ like passive skill or something like that, I'm not gamedev but it's my opinion.
Like Chaturanga, one good chess variant.
