Full of character and surprises. Great sprite work and crunchy deaths. Nice to have a couple ways to tackle your goals. Definitely worth the money
Fool's End is a brilliantly designed mining-platforming game packed with hand-crafted levels and challenging mechanics. Its clever design makes every foolish defeat a fun and rewarding experience.
I died 9369 times and now no longer wanna kms, 10/10 would recommend
Haven't finished it yet but pretty good.
Neat game that combines platforming with a combination of interesting interactive mechanics for obstacles. Great pixel art style, very cohesive and polished. I really enjoyed it :) My only suggestion is that you add window resizing as an option, or at least a few pre-defined options for viewport sizes so that in windowed mode it doesn't flow over the edges of the screen or windows task bar.
Fool's End Review

How deep can you dig?

Dig your way through the levels, get to the portals, and outsmart the bosses! The question is not if you should play Fool’s End, but rather why you should play it. Keep reading to find out!
About This Game

Storyline
Fool's End is more about platforming and the challenges than the story itself. The gameplay is where it shines. In terms of story, you are the Fool, a person who woke up lost in a system of caves and is trying to find the way out. It would be nice if the dev could add a short scene at the first beginning and the first ending to show the story.
Gameplay mechanics
It’s a very well developed platformer! You have a pickaxe that you can throw and your hands to dig horizontally and try to find the way to the portal that will take Fool to the next level. If you lose your pickaxe, you will have to use your hands. When you die, your grave will be there to remind and assist you. It would be nice to have more weapons and tools to collect and use. Every level has a different set of enemies to fight or avoid. And a different set of traps, from spikes to dynamites. Sometimes you have to be careful, sometimes you have to be fast. Don’t forget to find and collect the beer along the way! It is just a collectible, but a fun one with a nice animation! In terms of collectibles, it would be interesting to have an album showcasing the enemies Fool defeated with a bit of background to each enemy. There are 3 game modes: story, time trials, and daily challenges. The story mode includes 3 worlds with 12 levels each and an extra level for the boss. If you die, you can continue from the level you stopped. The levels are well designed and the boss fight is always interesting. Every time you beat a level, you unlock the time trial. The goal is to go through the level as fast as you can and beat the time. Lastly, the daily challenge is a randomizer that creates a level for you to beat. Every time you fail, the level applies the randomizer until you either finish or give up. Gathering money and beating enemies will grant higher scores. There is a global rank for the day. This mode did present some issues, getting the Fool stuck or not showcasing the ranks, but the dev is working on it. In conclusion, the platforming is awesome and the levels are very well designed! It took me around 2.6h to complete the story mode.
Visuals & Audio
The pixel art for the visuals is top-notch! Whoever likes this pixel style, will like the visuals! The audio is very dynamic and matches the style of the game. My suggestion is to watch the videos, if you like them, you will like the visuals and audios.
Pros

• Superb gameplay. • Levels are very well designed. • Visuals and audio are amazing. • It is a lot of fun!
Cons

• Could add a beginning and ending scene to the story. • Daily challenge randomizer gets Fool stuck sometimes. • Daily challenge rank presented issues some of the times, not showcasing my rank or even the overall rank. • Could add a bit more content with more weapons and defeated enemies’ info album.
Conclusion

Fool's End is a superb platforming experience! If you like the graphics, the audio and a good challenge, this game is for you! At the time of this review, the dev is actively improving the game and listening to feedback.
