I recommend this game but it has some cons for me. Maybe this game was appealing at the time, but for me: - Bad handling and I play with an XBOX series X controller. It's like the car is barely responsive. Like the wheels don't turn all the way. - The race doesn't feel satisfying because the cars feel slow and the handling doesn't help either. - - Also, I know the appeal of this game is supposed to be crashing into other cars and destroying them, but I barely hit other cars. The only car I can actually fully destroy is Sofia Martinez small car. - The music is good but the playlist is not big so it gets repetitive. Maybe the solution would be to install a mod to expand the music playlist.

AWE-SOME! The game came out 20 years ago, but to this day it is still very freakin' fun! Vaseline lens bloom can date the game generation quite precisely, and the soundtrack is the product of the generation. But the gameplay does not feel dated in the slightest. Catch-up algorithm is very competent, you are never bored. Tracks are very conducive to insane speed crashes with long straights and tight curves where one can easily lose some speed and get T-boned to oblivion. Cars are handling very well, there are few obstacles that stop you dead. You just go. Go through barns, shopping malls, weak walls, your mum, parked cars, greenhouses. Then you pin an opponent to your hood and slam them against the wall giggling like an idiot. Pure joy. Worth playing in 2026 even if you don't have any nostalgia.
