I tried Five Dates expecting a simple FMV novelty, but I came out genuinely impressed. The game does a fantastic job with the characters — each one has a completely unique personality, style, way of talking, and vibe. No two dates feel the same, which keeps things fresh and replayable. What really stood out to me was how real the dates feel as they progress. On the 1st date, everyone is putting their best foot forward and hiding their issues (just like IRL), but as you get closer and go on a 2nd or 3rd date with the same person, they slowly start opening up about their problems, insecurities, and baggage. That gradual shift from polished first-date energy to real vulnerability gave the game a very authentic and human feel that I didn’t expect from an FMV title. The writing is sharp, especially the banter between you (the main character) and your friend who’s helping set up the dates. Their back-and-forth conversations are funny and actually made me laugh a little a few times. It feels like you’re texting your mate while swiping through these dates. The game is really short it takes about 4-7 hours (depends if you're hunting for achievements or not) so I would recommend to buy it on sale. If you enjoy FMV games or just want something short, sweet, and surprisingly well-acted with good replay value, I definitely recommend Five Dates. It’s light, charming, and has more emotional depth than you’d think at first glance. 8/10

Oynanış yine çoğunlukla seçim yapmaya dayalı olduğu için klasik oyun hissi bekleyenler tatmin olmayabilir. Ayrıca bazı diyaloglar zaman zaman fazla klişe hissettirebiliyor. 🎯 Genel Değerlendirme: Kafa yormayan, rahat ve kısa süreli bir hikâye deneyimi arayanlar için keyifli bir yapım. Özellikle FMV ve seçim odaklı oyunları sevenlerin hoşuna gidebilir.

I wrapped up Five Dates and managed to unlock every single achievement, and I’m happy to say it was a delightful surprise. This is a charming, light-hearted FMV rom-com set during lockdown. You play as Vinny, a likeable guy jumping into the world of virtual dating for the first time. The game features five very different women, each with their own personality, and your choices shape how the conversations and dates play out. It’s amusing, sweet, and entertaining. What stands out most is the excellent acting across the board — the performances feel natural and the characters are memorable. The writing is sharp and witty, especially with your best mate Callum giving you advice between dates. The branching paths and multiple endings give the game solid replay value, making it easy to jump back in and try different approaches. The achievements were fun to chase (there are 15 of them) and added an extra layer of motivation to explore every option. Value note: I bought this as part of the 14-game MEGA FMV Bundle, and at that price it was an absolute bargain. Five Dates alone delivered way more entertainment than I expected. Verdict: If you’re in the mood for a feel-good, humorous, light interactive movie with heart and strong performances, then you might like this one.
