Grind filled, repetitive, boring and tedious is how I would describe this game. The main problem is that this game is trying to be a plague management game and an "idle" game at the same time, and because of that it ends up doing neither very well. It's not a very good idle game because the amount of resources you can accumulate will often by limited by various level gates. Once you get enough resources to reach these level up thresholds production stops entirely, and wont resume until the player manually clicks level up. Another huge problem is that although the game has auto buy tools, you don't start with them, which means that you're going to be doing so much manual clicking at first that it's going to make your wrist hurt. Often you also can't tab out very effectively either, because the production of resources is highest in game when your cursor is directly over the central bacteria. Therefore, unless you have something playing on the other screen, but have your cursor on this game then it wont work out very well. In addition, the game makers added these spiky enemies (anti bacterial drugs I think) that will randomly appear on screen, this cuts your production down by half unless you keep your cursor over them for a bit (or click them to death faster). So if the idle game is bad, does that mean the management game is workable? No unfortunately, because the game is expecting the possibility of you leaving and letting your resources accumulate periodically (which doesn't work well for the reasons I outlined above); therefore, the cost of upgrading various body parts is very high, especially in the early game when you often won't have many upgrades (and if its your first play through, won't have any auto buy options either). This means that if your actively playing, you'll be spending most of the time with your cursor on the main bacteria, click, click, clicking and waiting for enough resources to manually buy more production or upgrades to said production. But the cost of every additional threshold, upgrade, or production unit goes up quickly and dramatically. In the early game you are often buying production units that cost thousands or hundreds of thousands, in the late game the cost will go up and past the quadrillions and into numbers usually reserved for scientific notation. Another annoying feature is that even when you do start to gain momentum, the game has a "mood system" that makes it so that if you try and upgrade too often, or too fast, it runs the possibility of failure that forces you to start over again. Or will soft lock you into waiting until the "mood improves" before doing more upgrades. The worst thing is, the only way to improve the mood is to level up the immune system and then wait for it to slowly remove the unhappiness, and this doesn't occur when you aren't logged in, so you can't idle it. (Leveling up the immune system takes away some unhappiness, and the immune system can be leveled up indefinitely, but because of the very sharply rising cost to upgrades in this game, it will become an option you can only use in the early game or mid game, then will become useless in the late game). This brings me to my next point, repetition. Once you do start to gain some momentum you might start to enjoy certain aspects of this game, the visual assets for the transformation of the host aren't bad (though they are re-used from another game this developer is making); however, as soon as you "win", your transported to a new host and are expected to mostly start completely over again. You get to keep a very small number of your upgrades, and you get a small/incremental upgrade to your overall process, but mostly you'll be doing the same thing over again. Worse than that, the game expects you to do this 10 to 16 times in a row in order to win, so any novelty or interest you have in the games mechanics is going to get eroded away to nothing as you do the same thing over, and over, and over. And your reward for winning the game? Some half baked cut scene with stock video that basically says love conquers all and everyone should accept each other, etc etc etc. Then the game gives you some number of specialization points, to start a new campaign with a different "skin" (slightly different transformation visuals) but takes away the vast majority of your upgrades, usually just leaving you with 1-2 auto buy modules. (The worst part is, the skins that you'll want, probably wont be available until you've beaten the game more than once). So basically you get to start completely and totally over again, almost no retained upgrades, no retained momentum, and the game even still plays all the tutorial text messages and makes you repeat the process like you've just started the game from scratch. Giant "oof". I wanted to like this game, I like transformation, I don't mind managing numbers/systems, and I quite like the visuals. But grinding for 1-2 hours per host in the early game (more like 30 mins in the late game once you have upgrades/momentum) and then for more like 10 hours per campaign, just to have it all ripped away and be forced to start over again with almost no new game plus incentives is bad game design. In Summary. The core loop of this game has far too much grind, the rewards are too few and far in-between, the loop makes you repeat yourself WAY too much with not nearly enough carried over progress, and the fundamental core of the game is seriously flawed because it's trying to do two mutually exclusive things at once (an idle game and an active management game) and settles on having both be executed poorly. To conclude unless the developer makes a dramatic overhaul to the game, I wouldn't recommend buying it. Even if they do, I absolutely wouldn't buy it for $15, I've seen games with far more content go for a lot less. Hope this rant was helpful.
Brain Bleach. "When crafting a narrative centered on the usurpation of free will and the negation of personal choices, it inherently carries an underlying intention. Regardless of the layers one may shroud around this intention, its core essence remains one of malevolence. There are good people in the world; however, this game was not created by good people."
I really, really wish this game was better. The foundations are there - the infection game is fun the first few times, but quickly reveals itself to be one of exponential progress (and requirements) with very little strategy involved. Once the world infection progress opens up, it doesn't take long to figure out there's no second layer to the game at all. It doesn't even seem to matter what you actually do to them, as long as they end up with a vagina and the libido requirements for sex. All the other attributes are supposed to effect desirability, but are entirely one dimensional about it - apparently every man in the world wants a slutty playboy model. I would have loved to have seen some sort of nuance to how you convert people. All the steps of the virus are identical. The conversion of each body part is identical. In terms of the world domination aspect, it would have been great if the 'pattern' each variant applied in conversion was what was targeted by vaccines. Did your first batch make tall busty women? Welp, now you'll have to deal such women being targeted with medication - better make some short cuties next. Instead, this area of the game simply doesn't exist - each strain seems to spread to twice as many people as the last. As long as you move relatively quickly and don't overload the immune system winning is just a matter of time. I want this game to be something I can recommend. It's right up my alley, which makes it all the more disappointing. NOTE: As much as I was disappointed in this game, REL.PINK's other game in development, BMO Tv, is downright awesome. If you like the idea of this game, I highly recommend BMO. It has an interesting plot with a cool rogue-like aspect, plus more and better TF content. Check out the REL.PINK's patreon for that one.
So, no matter what audience you are (as I have been convinced through perusing the discussions, there are more than the obvious one), I can tell you will not like this game. Why? Simple; it is an idler with an alarm clock attached. Allow me to explain You'd think this would be a regular idler, where you just come in every so often and just upgrade stuff where you want. Well, the developers decided that you have to be present for all the major progressions, you can't run it past that because the game stops producing resources (it also stops after 6 hours which is a highly questionable decision when the former mechanic is also present). So okay, you think to yourself how that just means you have to be a bit more proactive, right? Well, the problem is that there is a mechanic that goes "no no, you did too much, time to wait for a stupid amount of time in the stupid corner" where the game also does not produce any points. And you know what the true kicker is? The thing that reduces that time is so "important" to the progression that it takes ~5 times more points for base upgrade (keep in mind, the scaling is quadratic) than anything else. Seriously, play something like Cookie Clicker, it is an infinitely better purchase.
way to long this is a very drug out clicker doesn't even run while your gone as the antibodies pause your progress. dont buy
So before I post I should state I went into this game expecting it to be a good game that portrayed the trans community in a positive spotlight. Instead I got an STD simulator based on kinks. This game has 3 game modes and the only version I liked based on my thoughts going into it was the SFW version. Simply because at that state it was a plague inc style incremental game with a gacha dress up element in the mix. Which was interesting but not nearly enough options. So there are 2 NSFW versions and one of those version is re-playable 10 times. So you need to play the game at least 12 times total to get the full game completed. The game play is very repetitive, I'd estimate about 8-10 variant's per run so roughly 96-120 "Infected" runs, so yeah it gets repetitive and this is a game you do not want your friends/family to see you playing due to like I said above this game being basically an STD simulator. This game's design audience is for kinks not for trans supporters but with that in mind, there is a connected toy feature which I was not able nor willing to test out but it seemed interesting. First time and hopefully the last I ever see that feature in a game but I think we've all thought of the possibility at one point or another but it could lead to some interesting co-op play perhaps. Now with these things in mind I have 3 ideas that could make it better. 1st I haven't tried but perhaps add some modding capability stuff like having a mod to allow players to add more spaces that need modified such as voice instead of I assume incorporating that into the same as changing the face. I know we can't see those types of things but perhaps the modder could also add a custom music or background noise file and something like a cough could get higher pitched. I have no clue if this is a possibility but it shouldn't be to hard to add more of the spheres and just add the ability to rename them and connect them to other things. The game has like 4 mechanics so the game shouldn't be to hard to modify. Something like "If value is >x than change music to track2" but this is me thinking like a website programmer not necessarily a game developer because I've only made games in GML and I don't know how sloppy or how cluttered the code is yet. To summarize add modding capability to the icons that represent changes, add customization music, perhaps add custom clothing options in the modding menu. 2nd change how the game is advertised in the steam menu. The steam menu makes the game seem like it is targeted to trans supporters but instead it is definitely targeted towards a kinky audience. 3rd add a truly endless mode. This is just because I do have a feeling someone out there is curious how quickly they could finish an infected person's stats and if there was an endless mode it would be cool to play long enough to be able to buy a single cell and suddenly the level up requirement is leveled up to the max so it's really just how fast can you click the center cell to get the points used on the buy menu and click there while the auto-upgrading cell levels it to tier 10 or higher. So my honest opinion is this game is not terrible but I will not recommend it to anyone I know anywhere. Very carpal tunnel inducing game. I struggled to get all the achievements just because I couldn't refund the game by the time I finished the SFW mode. Which in my opinion was the only mode worth playing. Definitely would not recommend kids play and teenagers probably won't find the game fun to begin with. Anyone transitioning might think it's a nice game until they get to the STD simulator part then they probably won't touch it again ever. Which I know I won't play the game again unless I feel like playing Co-op with my girlfriend but even then probably not. Personally I don't think the game is worth $15 maybe closer to $5 or cheaper but I'm just gonna pretend the money went to a good cause, because I doubt it went into the game. Anyway if I learn that anything I've mentioned has been changed or that it exists I'll either update the review or just delete it because I honestly don't think the game is terrible. Just not what I was expecting and not something I would want to recommend to anyone. If I don't update this then there is also a chance I just didn't bother because to be honest I don't know if I'll look around because I probably won't play this game again even if there are ways to make it slightly more fun or interesting.
i went into this game thinking it was going to be like plague inc. that was not what i got at i did get is a game that dragged on far to long for its game loop . i did not enjoy this game and i honestly paid too much. i would have paid half its asking price.
They need a "buy all" option for upgrades; without it, the game's a carpal tunnel class action lawsuit waiting to happen. I have requested a refund based on this element alone.
you can totally transform your host but the graphics are lacking and the process pretty much repeats itself after every new host is infected i was hoping new options opened up but was disappointed like taking your host out to mingle but all action pretty much stayed in the box to the left so it was a let down
tedious autoclicker with fun mechanics like "don't click to fast". the dev would've better spent effort gone into this on making their main game not be laggy as all hells, or making a good ui for it.
