It took me about half an hour to beat the game and I am impressed by this game. You are an alchemist or potion-maker who crafted a potion for your wife. Unfortunately that potion kills your wife and now you desperately try to resurrect her. Another accident occurs when you slip and hit your head while making your revival potion. You die but you're a stubborn prick so you swipe the scythe from the hands of the literal Grim Reaper. The goal is to get out of Purgatory and back into the land of the living while escaping a very ticked off reaper. The gameplay is based on hack-n-slash and rogue-like mechanics and roughly feels like a rigid version of Hades. You can slash and dash through enemies but this game has its own unique element: Potions. You are given two potions which you can throw at enemies as an explosive and can be rechaged by hitting a certain number of attacks. Throughout the game, you are able to collect ingredients which gives new effects to your potions. These effects include increasing explosive effects, poison, bleed, stuns, gravitational pull, and more. The potion mechanic is the main attraction of this game and lets you feel super powerful when you stack multiple effects on a single potion. The game is rather short and you can breeze through it pretty quickly since your potions should snowball as you collect more. The only complaint I have is how switching between potions is annoying due to being allotted to one button. I feel like the potions should have a hot key for each one since there are only two potions so you can keep better track of which ones you'll use while dodging projectiles. For a free game, this is one of the more high-quality games and has a great concept and decent execution. I highly recommend it if you enjoyed Hades as the mechanics are similar but the potions add a neat twist to the gameplay.

"FELLCHASER" is a simple 2.5D top down brawler with a gimmick, you brew potions as part of your main offensive capability. The graphics aren't award winning, the gameplay and control handling isn't as tight as perhaps it should be, but this is a really solid effort in game development, and the price is hard to argue with. The problem I found mostly was the lack of content... "Roguelike" as we know is a developer code-word for "I think samey procgen algorithms are the same as designing levels, storytelling and narrative progression, I don't understand why other developers waste time doing that when I can just procgen everything!". So the game doesn't have content... just samey repetition instead. All filler. This is like recieving a package full of nothing but packing foam. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 10 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.
Such a great game! The art is super well done and the mechanics are so fluid! Its so addicting to lose and try to run it back with a different build-type, or experiment with a potion build.
nice game for one playthrough but waaay to easy

7/10 para pasar el rrato.
Literally peak, amazing mechanics and art
