As a whole, I found the game quit enjoyable to play. It was somewhat confusing... at first... especially with the placement of the power lines. With the game, Youtube is your best friend. Would I recommend this game to play... The graphics are very good. There are plenty of tasks and challenges to complete. I am physically disabled and only have the use of my left hand. This is the first game I've played in a long while, that doesn't end-up frustrating me after 5 minutes of play... and I quit the game. I have over 7 hours of play in the game, and I've just begun to scratch the surface of the game. So... the answer is YES. I would HIGHLY recommend this game... for those who like this type of game.
The prologue is okay, but it feels much like its predecessor. And I was pretty bummed that never got too many updates to fix bugs. So sadly because of this devs track record and this game feeling like the update the first game deserved, I can't recommend. I certainly won't buy this.

Pros: -Its like banished, but you die of financial ruin -Economics 101 Cons: -Many bugs that need to be squashed (one being workers just sit by the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MANURE PILE) -AI Pathing needs to be fixed -Specific storages and the inventory of individual warehouses are needed -Wheres the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ corn? -Definitely needs more visual customization for buildings -Fix the damn decor, the fences never line up -Seasonal Workers bugged, does not explain exactly how each of their contracts work? Overall, I love the idea of the game... but Im not confident enough in the dev team to spend my money yet.
I cannot recommend this game for it's current balancing. Now I started a long ass review and felt it got to all over the place so Imma keep it short and sweet. Try this demo for your self and see how you like it but my biggest problems with this game are the workers and the time sink. Worker example: They have stamina and that stuff depletes quickly and they don't do to much work, They do have skills which you can upgrade to have them perform better however this doesn't feel very impact full on their performance. For instance it can take a single worker 2 days to water a green house and like 10 days for up to 4 workers to set up a green house (After it was built by a construction crew after 1-2 days). They Have to dig it out, then till it, then fertilize it, then plant it, then use pesticides on it, then water it which seems to take them way to long to do specially with more then one person so more then one worker even at max stats seems to not help much and if it really does then honestly I'd hate to see how long it will take for them to do all that with out those stats... yikes. Time sink example: When those tomato greenhouses are set up completely then you have to wait 80 days for the plants to become harvest able then 40 days after each harvest and the problem with this is each green house only gives you roughly 700-800 euros per full harvest at 40-80 days while your employees are paid per month (30 days) at the rate of 1000+ per month so basically 2 green houses will barely pay for one employee it would seem and they don't even work that effectively so that's a bit high of a price to pay for not very efficient workers. Sadly to say I legit sat there on 3x speed for so long without doing a single thing trying to make money so I could start doing the cool stuff like using tractors and combines of fields but sadly you'd probably have to spend like 4+ hours grinding tomatoes to get to that point. Now this is based off the scenario so it may be set to a higher difficulty then a normal scale which could be why but however having a demo set that way seems like a bad idea simply because not many people will get the full idea of what your trying to bring with this game if you have to sit around and do nothing for about 30 mins on 3x speed. There are a few other things about these points however I feel I'll drag the review on to long again so I say go ahead and give the free demo a try and leave your feed back for the devs however mine so far is workers and the amount of time spent doing nothing sucks. Sadly I couldn't get to the juicer stuff to give my opinions on those.
Only a graphic update of Farm Manager 2018 with little changes: + Bio products + simpified (Auto) Farming - Still same issue as the old one: -- Farming costs a fortune without any good income (vehicle, people cost, low seasonal income) -- Only ranching makes steady good income (Bio makes it even more pofitable), extandable with a dairy --- No meat or reproduction (may be prologe limitation) -- Only a small amount available of items to view on the HUD. -- Small size scale - Missing a lot of old one: -- Auto sell/buy -- Auto irrigation (may be prologe limitation) -- Variation of products. (may be prologe limitation) -- Techtree (may be prologe limitation) Should be called Ranch Manager.
Compared to Farm Manager: 2018 (which I do thoroughly enjoy), 2021 is an absolute gem. The overhauled field management makes life a lot simpler and removes a lot of the tedium which was present in 2018. Yes it's janky in places but it's also a pretty niche format and I can accept some jankiness to get what I want.
Hi all, Good tutorial and nice gameplay, easy to understand. Free play in demo mode made me looking forward to the full game when It was finished. Graphics and sounds are great! I think this is going to be a very populair game and will bring many ours of fun to many players. Big THUMBS UP for the devs. ánd the game.
Prologue? More like epilogue, because it sure needs a lot of work to make it enjoyable. I don't get the bit about having to supply electricity. That does not fall within the remit of a farm manager; that task is for a utility company, so there should be an icon to click for electrical supply.
I've always dreamed of retiring to a small farm in the rural Appalachian mountains. This game gives the player an idea of what it might take - a lot of work. The biggest challenge of this game seems to be to get started. However, once the tutorial is completed, the new player has some grasp of what is needed and how to handle it. The rest is common sense. The Prologue certainly give a taste of what is to come in the main game. I'm looking forward to it.
This game has a potential to be great farm sim. However from the demo we can find this potential is not fully used yet and it has some really annoying balance and GUI issues. As per my opinion this game need serious polishing before full release. Pros: Idea of the game Detail which is put into farming and possibility to raise/grow BIO products Expected size of full game. From some windows and filters it is possible to see there will be lot of stuff grow/raise. Which is currently nerfed to 4 cattle types and 4 plants and full production facility possibilities (creating cheese from cow milk etc.) Graphic Cons: Game is too slow even with 3x speed most of the time you just wait for products to be created, sell them and then buy food for your cattle. I would expect that on 3x speed you should not be bored... Game is not balanced (at least for this demo). I had to spend at least 2-3 hours of gameplay to only raise number of sheeps so I would make more money to be able to buy advanced mechanization GUI is clumsy in several ways. Most annoying is scrolling, side bar is broken and scrolling thru mouse take ages GUI stats about money and overall expences is missing. In last minutes of gameplay I was able to find how much I pay to my employees, but was unable to find building maintenance. Or in menu where are incomes and expences is not possible to group those things, but you can search by texts (which is interesting idea) No possibility of micromanagement of your stuff. Except of special buildings like cow or sheep buildings you are not able to assign employees with specific skills to do specific stuff. So I ended with my 5* mechanic who was working in greenhouse and my 5* planter to wok with tractor on fields... To sum it: I like the game, but you have to be ready to find some things that are annoying. For now, I cannot recommend it till it will be polished.
