Farewell Sen(daggers) is a delightful free game similar in some themes, battles, and color pallet to Grimm's Hollow. While Farewell Sen's storyline is not quite as fleshed out and a bit ambiguous, despite Amoxy having a playlist which attempts to delve into the lore of the Sendaggers ( https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL87P8fsHAzNVnRv9KSRuNzd39b1fcEA2X ), the game still keeps you captivated and is challenging. That being said, I wish the ending supplied more answers. 6/10
I think this game could really benefit from both an editor (the amount of misspellings and basic grammar issues here would have been easy to catch with just a glance over) and a visible health bar for our enemies! I don't mind difficult game play, but when I'm hitting big numbers and nothing seems to change- it doesn't really matter how high I level if I can't tell how hard I'm actually hitting, you know? The art style is lovely, though, I just wish I could appreciate it a bit more with better game play. Tell me what these status effects mean! Why does it matter if I'm crying? I want to know!

A very personnal game. Traditionnal mechanics, but feels really apart. It gets quite stressful at times, but can be beaten without much tryhard. In one sentence : It's like blindly walking on a rope, but you can reload a save if you fall. You don't know how thin it is, how long it lasts, but save files will keep you walking further and further. There's a cool gimmick, or rather side effect : When playing games from big studios, even Dark Souls, you naturally know the game is balanced to be beaten with more or less skill. Farewell Sen does look amateurish, so I always feared the moment where I'd softlock myself by walking on an enemy far too strong to be beaten. In this game, there're only set enemy encounters, limited healing, no way to farm anything, and attacking drains action points, which don't replenish naturally. You can only count on your saves, and you know if you don't manage your ressources properly, that's a reset, or even a hard reset if you messed up. Enemies health bar is hidden. Every single encounter, I had to guess/learn/remember wether I use stronger/expensive attacks, which would drain ressources that I might need for future fights since I never knew when the next heal machine would come up. The above sounds like a bad game, but it only made it better. I kept seeking for the smallest hint to beat monsters, the smallest opportunity to save a potion, and besides the Nash boss, the game wasn't that hard to beat. -Edit- I'm pretty sure Nash has been nerfed since some time, so I'll drop it there. Nash is a boss that, when I first played ~2 years ago, was so strong I thought it was an optional fight. His attacks were much stronger than anything I met before him, but the fact that his hp were hidden turned this into possibly the most frightening bossfight I witnessed yet in a video game. Every time I lost to him after spending all my resources, I couldn't tell if he had 1 or 1000 hp remaining. It wasn't just "aight I reload the save til I slam it". I feared that I've spent too much resources before him. And since nothing can be farmed, I was starting to believe that my last save was done after spending too much, and that I'd have to restart the entire game in order to beat Nash. I don't remember another video game boss that felt as threatening as that. If you're tired of mainstream stuff and aren't allergic to good ol' rpg or non-cinematic graphics, I recommend giving it a shot.
What a cute and well made video game! I stumbled upon this randomly a while ago and just got around to try it out today. I liked the atmosphere so much I straight up decided to finish the whole thing in one go. Im extremely sleepy, but this was a such pleasure to play and I will be recommending it to friends :) One downgrade would be that the fights do get kinda repetetive and kinda boring around the middle, as I guess I had already a lot of gear and that made it easier. In the beginning tho, I died twice and had to come up with another way to distribute my money in the shop or use my abilities, which was fun. And Im even surprised I found it any fun to be dying and trying again. Thanks for the cool game!

A perfect example of how to create an incredible RPG Maker game. Forget the idea that the game is overly difficult—it's actually pretty straightforward if you avoid wasting money and use it efficiently. Monsters still drop some items, and you can take advantage of the free full heals from vending machines. <3 Short game, big lessons learned!
nothing interesting to see here. just another amateur dev's first game, go into it expecting that and nothing more
the mood of this game is so eery and the battles are kinda hard i actually stopped playing for a while (this is not a bad thing, the creepy vibes are strangely compelling and i like a challenge). unfortunately ended up forgetting a lot of the lore when i finally picked up where i left off so this made the ending less fulfilling (my fault, i do this with most media i consume) but it was still a great experience. the art style, colour palette, music, and characters all do a good job of telling an interesting little story. cant go wrong with a free game like this
