Solid achievement spam game for less than a $1. Not bad
Fairy of the treasures, developed and published by Pink Label Games, is a lightweight indie clicker title that blends simple repetitive mechanics with light visual novel elements and anime-inspired presentation. Released in 2017, the game positions itself within the casual and idle-adjacent space on Steam, though it leans more heavily toward manual interaction than true automation-based idle design. At its center is a small fantasy-themed premise: you guide a fairy named Mei as she opens magical treasure chests in pursuit of gems, gold, and incremental completion milestones, all while brief story snippets provide a loose narrative framework. The core gameplay loop is extremely straightforward. Players repeatedly click on different types of treasure chests to unlock them and progress through tiers. Each chest category—ranging from gold to gemstone-themed variants—contains multiple levels that require a set number of clicks to complete. There are no advanced mechanics layered on top of this foundation: no complex upgrade trees, no automation systems, no prestige loops, and minimal variation in interaction. The act of clicking is both the primary and almost exclusive mechanic, making the experience accessible but also inherently limited in depth. For players who enjoy simple, repetitive input with clear goals, this structure can provide a certain kind of low-effort satisfaction. While the gameplay itself remains minimalistic, the visual novel components attempt to give the experience some personality. Short narrative segments introduce Mei and supporting characters, adding light dialogue exchanges and bits of fantasy flavor. The writing is concise and largely functions as thematic dressing rather than a fully fleshed-out story. These narrative interludes break up the clicking routine but do not significantly alter progression or introduce branching outcomes. The optional downloadable story expansions add additional characters and scenes, but they remain stylistically consistent with the base experience and do not transform the core mechanics. Visually, Fairy of the treasures embraces a colorful anime aesthetic. Character sprites are stylized and expressive within the limits of static presentation, and backgrounds carry soft fantasy motifs that reinforce the whimsical treasure-hunting premise. The art style is arguably one of the game’s stronger elements, as it provides charm and identity to what is otherwise a mechanically simple design. However, because the gameplay interaction itself remains largely unchanged throughout, the visual appeal becomes one of the primary motivators for continued engagement. One aspect that draws a specific subset of players is the abundance of Steam achievements. The game includes a very large number of unlockable achievements tied to progression milestones. For achievement hunters, this provides an incentive structure that extends beyond the in-game narrative. The process of completing chest tiers and unlocking achievement badges can serve as a checklist-style goal system that some players find appealing, particularly given the game’s relatively low cost and short completion time. However, the simplicity that defines Fairy of the treasures is also its most commonly cited weakness. Without meaningful progression systems, evolving mechanics, or strategic variation, the experience can feel repetitive very quickly. The lack of automation or scaling systems—features often found in more robust clicker or idle titles—limits long-term engagement. Players expecting layered design, complex economic balancing, or deeper narrative arcs may find the game too shallow to sustain extended play sessions. Its appeal lies almost entirely in its simplicity, and whether that simplicity feels relaxing or underdeveloped depends largely on player expectations. Ultimately, Fairy of the treasures occupies a niche corner of the indie clicker landscape. It is not designed to compete with expansive idle games or deeply branching visual novels. Instead, it offers a compact, low-pressure experience centered on repetitive interaction and collectible completion. For players seeking a brief, casual distraction with anime aesthetics and straightforward objectives, it can serve as a mild diversion. For those looking for strategic depth or immersive storytelling, it may feel more like a novelty than a fully realized game. Its value lies in understanding its scope: a simple, charming clicker experiment that prioritizes accessibility and achievement collection over complexity and long-term evolution. Rating: 5/10
I've put more work into this review than developer into this slop. Horrible low effort trash.
Easy achievements to collect.
Easy achievements %100
МОИ ПАЛЬЦЫ УСТАЛИ!
FAIRY OF THE TREASURES
This game is just another achievement clicker game where you don´t need to do anything special. Just click few times and you will achieve 500 achievements in half an hour. Overall you can´t expect anything special from it, besides gaining a lot of achievements. So must have for achievement hunters. Also I recommend to buy it on sale, otherwise not worth it. GL & HF.
Cute game that I enjoyed, but it definitely is an achievement farm from hell. Please don't let that deter you from playing it though.
Lot of jewel & gold coin achievements, total 500pcs!
