really good until you get to the basement when all of a sudden the controls don't work half the time causing you to get killed over and over
There are a number of jump scares which are quite well done. Even I play in the broad day light, I still stunned every time these came out. I don't think I can finish this game if I play during the night time alone in my place. So, you guys already got my warning. I got this game under heavy discount and it well worth the money. Just don't expect RE8 quality here. Spoiler Alert: The game play is quite linear. You start the game as a vlogger who dare himself to stay a few days/nights in this house. However, you cannot open most doors until you have made the progress to earn it. The game play is just to keep survey the house until you see something spooky. There are a few places which are quite challenge to complete. I just take the shortcut consulting the guide posted here in steam. The lady who show it seems to play it first time since she kept trying to find way to progress the game. But she never shocked by any jump scares at all. While I shocked twice while watching her playthrough and then again when I play it myself.
Keine Ahnung! Keine Ahnung!
wtf is this ??????????????????? a waste of my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time an d money..../...... this is a fkn scam
Some people like survival horror, I do not. But it's a good game, sometimes feel lost but it's good. Not for me though.
Faint Call by KY XE, published by Darks Zone, is a psychological horror experience that masterfully captures the unsettling atmosphere of a haunted suburban home. From the moment you step inside, the game draws you into a chilling mystery steeped in tragedy and dark secrets. Set in 2010, the story centers on a family who moves into a new house only to be found murdered in a gruesome and inexplicable way. Each family member is discovered hanging in the bathroom, marked with an eerie symbol carved into their chests. The horrific crime goes unsolved, and the house is abandoned, becoming a site of dread and legend. Years later, the player takes on the role of a daring vlogger investigating the house to uncover its secrets, providing a layered narrative told through an evocative VHS-style lens that adds a nostalgic yet disturbing feel to the overall experience. The gameplay in Faint Call focuses heavily on exploration and puzzle-solving within the claustrophobic confines of the house. Players must navigate dimly lit rooms and unsettling corridors while piecing together clues about what truly happened inside. The game uses environmental puzzles that require observation and logic, encouraging players to carefully search every corner. One of the standout elements is how the visuals and sound work in harmony to heighten tension. The VHS aesthetic—complete with static, screen glitches, and muted colors—immerses players in a retro horror vibe reminiscent of found footage films and classic horror tapes. Meanwhile, the sound design is meticulous: the creak of floorboards, distant thunder, the echo of footsteps on different surfaces, and subtle audio cues all contribute to an oppressive sense of dread that keeps players on edge. Built on Unreal Engine 5, Faint Call showcases impressive technical prowess for an indie title. Features like Nanite allow for detailed and high-quality geometry, while Lumen’s real-time global illumination creates convincing lighting effects that transform the house into a living, breathing entity—sometimes welcoming, often hostile. Despite this, the game’s relatively short length—around 40 to 60 minutes—means the experience is intense but compact, making it accessible to players who prefer a concise horror narrative without hours of commitment. However, the game is not without its drawbacks. Some players have encountered bugs that interfere with progress, such as moments where the game becomes unresponsive after key events like watching videotapes. These technical hiccups can be frustrating, especially given the game’s reliance on pacing and environmental storytelling. Additionally, Faint Call leans heavily on jump scares and trigger-based events, which can feel repetitive after a while and may undercut the slower-building psychological horror that many players seek. The necessity to wait for certain triggers to unlock new areas sometimes interrupts the flow, causing pacing issues that detract slightly from immersion. Overall, Faint Call stands out as a compelling, atmospheric horror game that expertly blends psychological tension with classic horror aesthetics. Its story is engaging and mysterious, providing enough depth to satisfy fans of investigative horror tales. The immersive audio and visual design effectively pull players into the haunted house’s unsettling environment, making each moment feel charged with suspense. While technical issues and occasional pacing problems are present, they do not overshadow the game’s strengths. For those who enjoy short, intense horror experiences steeped in mystery and retro vibes, Faint Call offers a memorable journey into darkness that lingers long after the credits roll. Rating: 7/10
Started out as a good P.T. game but became a survival horror game... which I suck at and don't find fun at all. Plus the game reveals the 'ghost', 'monster' way too early.
I just finished playing the game. The look was cool, the shifting house the more I explored was cool. Explanation of lore or why ANY of it was happening.... kind of fell flat. I suppose you could look at it from the viewpoint that the Officer was going in blind, we were going in blind. A lot happened. I have questions. The one thing that the game did really well was pull me in and wanting to know more of the why. I ended the game WANTING to know more. Why was it happening. What started it all, etc. There were some pretty good jumpscares that got me good that I was expecting and at times I didn't get jump scared when I was totally expecting it to happen so I liked that. It wasn't an amazing game, but it wasn't a horrible game either. The price was right and I feel like I got my moneys worth. I give it a solid 5.5 out of 10.
