Fahrenheit is a fun title that quickly collapses under the weight of its own pretentiousness. From the hamfisted romance between two of the main characters to the game's failed attempt at expanding the world with uninteresting and ultimately underdeveloped lore, Quantic Dream bit off more than it could chew. With that said, I cannot deny that this game/interactive movie captured my attention and maintained it throughout my playthrough. I wasn't bored once, and in the first half, I was very engaged in the mystery. In fact, the only reason I am recommending this game is because of how great the first 19 or so chapters were. I was kept on my toes the entire time and completely invested in the narrative being woven. Whether you consider this a game or an interactive movie, gameplay remains an integral part of Fahrenheit's identity. I definitely prefer the pseudo-tank control exploration sections over the repetitive and frankly ill-conceived QTE portions that got old pretty fast. Quantic Dream failed to diversify and increase the difficulty of the QTE mini-games throughout the playthrough. This meant that the game felt unbalanced, with seminal boss fight QTE sections feeling easier to complete than QTE sections where you dodge flying furniture, the real villain of the game. The three characters you primarily play as and the NPCs you meet throughout your journey are very hit or miss. Some characters are incredibly well-written, offering intelligent commentary on racial stereotypes and the difficulties of balancing one's career dedication with one's personal relationship. Other characters were completely bland. Unfortunately, this includes the centerpiece of the story, Lucas Kane. Relative to the other two main characters, Kane's character was inextricably linked to the mystery at hand. This meant that once the veil was lifted and the mystery was revealed, Kane became as uninteresting as the narrative itself. As an aside, I want to put special praise on Christian Erickson's performance as one of the main villains in the game. There's one scene in Kane's apartment that shone above everything else in the game, and his performance played a big part in that. His voice is both haunting and grating at the same time. Sadly, his character and role were ultimately betrayed by the subpar narrative. Amusingly, the tertiary main character, Miles, was the most interesting and most complex, yet he played no major part in the finale and effectively got erased from existence towards the end of the game, even though I explicitly tried to make choices that should have made it so he did, in fact, play a part in the finale. On that note, don't get invested in the choices you make throughout this game. They will ultimately not have much impact on the overall narrative, with the exception of one I will not spoil. The choices and consequences system here is so underbaked that the ending you get is practically only influenced by what you do in the final chapter, meaning that most of the decisions you make throughout the game don't influence the finale. I really like Fahrenheit, but I also completely understand why many do not. The myriad flaws are not easy to overlook, but I have a certain tolerance for them if the bright spots are bright enough. I think Fahrenheit has enough of them to at least warrant a single playthrough. The game's length is not too demanding, especially compared to some games these days, and you'll find aspects that are really amazing even if the overall package is not up to par.
Muy entretenida la historia, 20/10 y good
Heavy rain.
Кривая игра которая очень плохо работает, лучше посмотреть какой-нибудь обзор, чем играть в нее.
Great game
Muy buenas historia, aunque se siento apresurada en el tramo final, como que se quedaron sin tiempo o presupuesto y tuvieron a que acelerar todo, pero todo lo demas excelente.
I have no idea why steam selling this trash. It's doesn't works even with gamepad.
