Another VR escape the room game but this one doesn't show you the whole room right from the start. As you collect clues more of the room is shown to you providing a new angle to a saturated VR genre. See Video first play here: https://youtu.be/dxh0AqysA-k I've become a little blaze about VR escape the room games. As there are so many out there already, in fact, this and VR rhythm games are the most heavily populated categories in VR so far. Here we were thinking wave shooters would be the go-to for devs in VR. At first, it was but now it's a long way behind in third place to these other genres of VR games. Anyway back on subject, Fade out VR escape the room is a very good looking VR game. None of the usual over anti-aliasing is seen and everything looks nice and sharp. The colours used and some of the artwork looks very good giving an almost Film Noir look to the game. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it looks compared to other VR escape the room games and only a few of my very favourite escape games in VR looked batter. The gameplay is fine although it's been a little not so much solving puzzles than just finding clues so far. The first room was pretty simple and so far in the next room with the coffee grinder, it's not been a great stretch to find the clues and work the room. Price seems more than fair as it looks like a good effort has gone into the game and look of the game. So far I have played not that much, being a curator of a VR group that gets a lot of VR games to review makes it hard for time-poor people like myself to do a full playthrough. But compared to other escape the room VR games it would sit in my top 15 and that's not too bad considering I have played I think a couple of hundred at least. Definitely, recommend for ETR VR game fans who want a slightly different angle to the usual VR escape room games. Ran fine on my system at SS @ 2 see specs in video credits.

I bought this game because it was described as a classical escape room where you can "touch everything" and "explore every detail". I found that to not be the case, unfortunately. I disliked the overall gameplay; if you're hoping for a traditional escape room, this isn't it. After you find one clue, the next area of the room to explore is revealed. I prefer the room to be complete from the beginning. I can appreciate trying something different, but they should have made it more clear in the description and not call it a classical escape room experience. I haven't completed the game, but so far the rooms have all been very short and uninteresting. The background sounds are creepy, as promised, but don't seem to vary much. Some of the controls aren't very intuitive, such as the room in which you have to punch in numbers on a phone (it was pretty frustrating). The description of the game said you can touch everything and explore every detail. I kept expecting the drawers and cabinets to open, however, very few of them actually did. Even if they contain no pertinent pieces of information, I still want to be able to actually look through everything. I think the way I would describe this experience is more of a guided escape room. You'll find one clue, only for something behind you to fall, and wouldn't you know it, there's a clue behind that! It just really took away from the self-exploring and problem solving that makes escape rooms so fun. And you don't actually even seem to escape any rooms. Once you finish all of the puzzles in a given room, a door may open but you don't move through it; instead, it takes you to a loading screen before you enter the next room. TL;DR - I was really disappointed in this game and feel the description was misleading. I adore escape rooms, both real life and virtual, but this one missed the mark.
Fade Out is atmospheric VR room escape game with a twist. Every time you do something right the room changes in some way and it makes the game feel fresh and exciting. The rooms are pretty different from one another and there are clever puzzles in each of them. Puzzles are not too hard but I did spend quite a long time in the first room. Pros: - Creepy atmosphere with matching soundscape - Hard enough puzzles to be entertaining but not too hard to make you stop playing - If you like room escape games, then this one is for you! Cons: - Sometimes the lighting can be a bit awkward
I played more or less 2 hours, i enjoyed the first 5 rooms, the ambient sounds are great, the graphic is cool but in a specific objects like a telephone buttons and clock it's hard interacting properly with them.
Very poor. Lighting does not work, sound effects do not match their objects, game is quite buggy and does not close when commanded. Also managed to hard-lock the computer, which takes skill.
Like this. It is 6 - 7 short escape room puzzles with a really cool atmosphere. Recommended.
