It's pretty stylized how 2d and 3d are mixxed into this game, It takes a while to understand how to do stuff, but when you finally get it, you become the automation god.

10/10, it ruined my life and I regret nothing. - You mine iron and copper by hand - You make an automatic miner that runs on coal - You mine coal by hand - You automate and make a factory - You discover electricity - You switch everything to the electrical variant - You discover trains and start removing long conveyor belts - You build your first train line and name it “temporary, just for testing” - You realize you now have 4 trains, 6 stations, and signals you no longer understand yourself - You tell yourself “this base will be the last one, then I’ll stop” - You unlock robots and promise yourself you’ll finally clean up the mess with them - The robots build you a mess 50x bigger, but at least it’s automated - You check the clock and it’s 4:12 AM - You tell your wife/girlfriend “just finishing one belt” - She doesn’t believe you, because you’ve said that for three days straight - You notice your UPS (updates per second) dropped to 43, and take it as a personal insult - You rebuild the entire factory because “this time it’ll be a clean build” - It isn’t - You unlock the space platform and realize the game is only just beginning - You open an Excel spreadsheet to calculate gear ratios - You realize you have more friends among the biters than in real life - You decide the title “Engineer” was fully earned - You put on headphones, play the soundtrack, and realize this is basically meditation - You promise yourself: not tomorrow, for real - Tomorrow you play again

It's a bit intimidating at first, but once you get used to it, you start to think you can do things better next time. It's a bit difficult to learn what everything does, then at some point you just know how everything works or know how to figure it out. Helps having someone experienced to ask questions.
