About

...this is Everything I Know, and Everything I'm Ever Gonna Know, a small modern visual novel about the hardships of young adulthood, failed relationships, and baseball(?!?) in the modern world.
Icarus, our lasagna loving hero, finds himself on a chunk of land that has mysteriously floated away from earth, stranding he and a cast of varied individuals who must pause their lives for a brief period of romance and rumination.
How you perform in baseball determines the confidence level of your avatar, Icarus, allowing alternative exploration of the subject matter.
But don't worry! This novel will give you the leniency to improve:)
If baseball is causing you to struggle, you can update your deck of modifier cards, as these will allow affect various parameters in the mini game!

There is a hideous, horrible pig in this novel.
While reading text will be your primary interaction, Everything I Know, and Everything I'm Ever Gonna Know is still mechanically dynamic. The mechanics you see on this page will be supplemented with additional surprises for those who look (and for those who don't as well, I suppose.)

This is designed for a matured audience. That's not to say that I have not been intentional when covering heavy topics (religion, fornication, purpose, etc.), but this is not a novel for everyone at every stage of life. It is important to me that no one is inappropriately surprised when reading this novel... There is at least one "shock" moment, but the intent is not to sensationalize. At least, not more than is necessary for the story...

You look very nice today.

If you have a microscope and can read sideways you can easily tell that F11 sets the game to fullscreen. The game is a "visual novel" where your dialogue options are limited based on how well you hit the baseball, which has some RNG to it as well as the timing. There is only 1 achievement which is not an accurate representation of the content as you get it like 15 minutes in, but the game is closer to 1 hour for a single playthrough. I don't know how much influence the currency or the dialogue has on the game, it would be nice to have more achievements so people know what to aim for in repeated runs. It's more of a mind ____ than a game, one of those self-deprecating, artsy, and flamboyant experiences if you will, not the first one to do so, but it's not really trying to directly copy similar games (just has a similar tone), something about the relationships you build at the young age and how you navigate them, or at least that is the little that I got from this nonsense. To give some credit to the game, it's certainly more evocative than watching generic 2D images, there are a lot of small gameplay additions, such as playing stocks to earn currency, buying items, the whole baseball mechanic, as well as a few other genre bending moments. The game also often uses recorded videos against drawn characters, giving it that artsy aesthetic and unique look. In between the visual novel elements there are also some activities you can do in your room, such as buying stock one day, and selling it the next day to buy various items in the shop, presumably you want to do it early as you will hit a point when the shop closes. There might be some secrets associated with other things that can be interacted with, although I am not sure because there are no achievements for it.
Pros:
(+) The game adds multiple unorthodox gameplay elements into a genre that normally does not have them, so it comes across more like an artsy mind game, if you enjoy those types of experiences. It's over the top, but still has some charm to it. (+) The visuals are very striking for a visual novel, in a genre where most games are just 2D images, there are real videos used as backgrounds, as well as other visual elements from 3D modeled baseball, top-down navigation in the room, and so on. (+) Very playful writing and overall experience, I have played games with similar tone, but not the same narrative
Feedback:
- if there are more things you can do in this game based on dialogue choices, stocks and items, it would be a good idea to add achievements for them so people can actually work toward exploring the game - F11 was very hard to see, the game starts in a tiny window on my end - the stock commands could be more forgiving, maybe 'buy' B could be the same, or S and 'sell', perhaps better explanation too Overall Thoughts: 7.5/10 Somewhat of a unique visual novel with various gameplay additions and unusual presentation elements. It just depends if you like that flamboyant type of writing, I would say it's somewhat adjacent to self-aware games, maybe a little over the top for me personally, but it wasn't bad by any means. It's still a little short for $7, so if there are different endings or objectives you can do in the game, it's a good idea to add achievements for them, otherwise I am not sure if it's worth experimenting. 《Everything I Know, and Everything I'm Ever Gonna Know》的程序文件名是厌世者。
No Responsibility Review,只根据个人喜好进行评测: 无责任评测
a bizarre, unconventional hybrid of deckbuilder baseball-batting, sexual-philosophizing dating sim, and stock market manipulation wrapped in a visual novel bow. there is a lot to unpack in this hour long journey that begs you to give it another go so that you can actually hit those strikes you whiffed to unlock better(?) dialogue options. EIK,aEIEGK exudes equal parts personality, peculiarity, and pretension and i guarantee that it will resonate with a very specific audience; i am not part of that audience, but i can certainly appreciate the qualities of this evocative game.
An interesting short story. There are a lot of mechanics in the game, but ultimately it felt like none of them really mattered. So what you're left with is a messy tale with a lot of style.
Baseball
Occasionally you're given a dialogue choice, and in order to determine how many options you get access to, you need to play base ball. It reminded me of the Yakuza mini game, where the pitcher sets a position in a box, you move to it, and try to time your swing perfectly. Bad swings only give you one option, home runs give you all 5. But I was really bad at the mini game. Unlike the Yakuza one where you just need to be near the circle and time it right for a home run, in this one it felt like your circle in relation to the target would determine the trajectory, so if you hit it dead on, you'd often just punch it right back into the pitchers hands. There is also a card drawing mechanic that is a random boon or bane effecting the baseball game each decision. There are a lot of cards to choose from, but balancing out boons and busts is a bit annoying. I played around with it a little and made things worse. I went from all the boons and banes being mild to the banes being complete busts and the boons barely helping at all. For better or worse, the story moves on regardless of how you do in the base ball mini game. The game even draws attention to this.
Oink Stonks
I also didn't realize until many days in that I'd need to play the stock markets to get more money. Although like the rest of the mechanics, it's unclear if this actually does anything to affect the story. The only thing I did that seemed to have consequence was talking to a pig and being grateful for it delivering the mail.
Story
The story is.... break neck. It feels often like important plot points are happening just off screen when we aren't looking, and all we're getting are tiny glimpses at this drama. Always playing catch up. It starts with our hero, Icarus, meeting a girl, Flissa, and falling in love. She gives Icarus a shot, and it all goes well until
her Ex shows up. Then we get a deep dive into Flissa's past, which makes Icarus flinch. He's real butt hurt about it, and comes off like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. He can't get over her past, so he decides to break up with Flissa, who suddenly becomes desperate to keep Icarus for some reason. Ultimately, they do break up, and Icarus gets with a pig.
If the idea was to emulate how messy young love can be, I think it does that well enough. Unfortunately,
Icarus being weird about his lover having had a past lover is such a weird hang up to me, that it made it hard to be in Icarus' corner for the rest of the game. And while the game does try to explicitly call attention to not see the floating chunk as a metaphor, it's hard not to as our hero breaks up with his "dirty" girlfriend and get with a freshly born "babe", growing wings to save himself and this replacement love from falling back down to earth Age of Ultron style. I haven't even mentioned what's going on with Leo, mostly cause the game never really gets into it either. We can infer he was an abuser, if not through the way he's talked about, then through his actions, and there is this tension that he's going to take Icarus away, but then suddenly he just decides not to.

Final Thoughts
I dunno, end of the day, the style and presentation of the game slaps, and it's a solid feature film length of story, but I would have like the mechanics to be more integral the game and its story, and I would have liked to have been there when characters did their exposition dumps to one another so I was in the loop with what was going down. There is no more I need to know and there is probably no more I am allowed to know, but I want to know, you know? This is a love story told through baseball, philosophy, and theology. Sometimes you make big swing and you miss, other times you make little swings and miss, mostly, if you are me, you just miss and that is okay. It's okay to miss the ball. I hope it's okay to miss the ball or I didn't play this game right. Anyways, this game needs more reviews so more people can engage and enjoy this strange story. I had a great time playing/watching/missing balls. There is also a stock market in the game - no idea what it's for or how it works. So I guess the game is also like real life as well. Worth a buy and certainly worth a play. I got the game for free so I won't give it a rating here. Give it a rating yourself.
a short visual novel about a baseball player's love life and struggles. the story was exquisite and way deeper than i expected but more in a mind ♥♥♥♥ way. art was fenomenal i immediately fell in love with both the 2d and 3d style what amazed me was the contrast between realistic backgrounds the 2d characters, 3d parts and the view from above part wich played together very well and made the game look unique. game offers a few mechanics along side the normal visual novel gameplay such as playing baseball mid dialogues wich unlocks more response options the better you do, also you can invest into stocks every day to earn money that you can buy different items with. the first playthrou takes about 1h 30min but after finishing the game you unlock a few new dialogues as well you could buy different items to get new interactions sorry if my review is hard to read + sorry for any grammar mistakes im not that good at english but the game amazed me so much and the art is so cute, cool and unique i just had to write a review my only problem was that after buying the most expensive option in the shop it didnt unlock the thing in the setting :( idk if its a bug or did i just do something wrong overall would heavily recommend
Interesting and enjoyable. [strike]Many crashes, though. The saves are frequent enough to only make it slightly annoying.[/strike] FIXED
bad at baseball, make no money on stocks, get no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ just like real life
