I want to begin by saying that I checked the "received for free" box, as this game is free here on Steam and I didn't pay anything for it. It was not in any way given to me by the developers, and the following review is not biased by commercial compensation. Having said that, I read about this game in an article, and being an experienced writer of letters myself, I was immediately interested in trying it out. Even more so because in the past I had used one of the electronic typewriters from the "Brother" company, a "GX-6750" if I am not mistaken. I also loved the quiet atmosphere and the typing sound effects, all of which inspired the mind and soul to create letters in the most reflective way. As you play the game and ponder on what to write based on the requests, you will find yourself thinking about and remembering much of your life and similar situations, and when the final letter comes, the one you write for yourself, it is the most emotionally resonant part of the story, as, literally, everything you have been writing has led to that moment. Whatever you are experiencing, feeling or dealing with when you play, will come out in the silent conversation you have with yourself at the end when you write that letter. At least for me, it was a very emotive moment. This small game is a nice experience to have on quiet days under the rain, or alone one afternoon in your apartment, or even during the wee hours of the night when creativity flourishes between being awake and feeling sleepy. Because of the anime artwork, but mainly because of the intimate quality of the story, I was reminded of Kan Gao's deeply emotional Freebird games. It felt as if I was playing one of his complex and resonant characters. All was not good, however, and even though this is a really short game to finish (you have to write about four letters), I would have liked for it to have a save and restore system, or even a checkpoint mechanic which saved after each letter was written. The thing is that having a real life sometimes, almost always, takes you away from playing any game, and that was the case with me and this game. Small as it is, I was only able to finish it on my fourth time replaying it which means starting from the beginning, reading the intro, tutorials, typing your name... you get it. What I mean is that you should find your time when you start this game as it has to be played in one sitting. In the end, non-existent save mechanics apart, I do recommend this game. Particularly if you like creative writing, or are a naturally reflective person. It could very well help you through a difficult moment in your life.

yes it's a cozy game where all you do is write. suggested for writers as it'll be much easier to convey your ideas and thoughts, though it'll get repetitive as there are only 19 different variations of topics for the letters you can write about the classical theme as the bgm also fits in with the era the game is set upon. the fact that you're unable to erase typos actually made it more realistic as the letters were written using typewriters. it's such a unique experience to begin with <3
Amazing, just what I needed, thank you <3

A cute little game! I do wish there was a bit more substance - I was really drawn in by the premise!
I absolutely loved this game. I think it was very healing to write some of these honestly and the casual acceptance of queer people was very nice to see. I literally cried three times but then again I've been dealing with a lot and the letter to myself really pushed me over lol.
