Reviews
If you are interested in this game based on the Store page but wondering why it has no reviews, it seems like the devs released this game in Early Access with little to no marketing/promotion and it failed to gain any traction at launch. Unfortunate, because based on the hours I've spent with it so far, this game has a lot to offer to those into casual, relaxing city builders. Whether you are looking for a strategy challenge or a creative sandbox, Evershire provides both experiences. It's a cute and cozy city builder in which you can either play the strategy-lite mode in which you need to manage the resources needed to place buildings and combine them in order to gain points, levels and get a high score, or play the creative mode where you can build and decorate the world entirely freely to your liking. Both the game's general aesthetic/atmosphere, and building synergy/scoring systems in Normal mode, evoke Dorfromantik vibes, but otherwise the gameplay is a little closer to something like zoning in SimCity/CIties: Skylines, while still being its own thing as far as the total package due to the freedom to be as creative as you want with the provided buildings and decorations. The early access release is a little bit rough around the edges and could use some more polish/content, but what's there is IMHO worth the price of admission for anyone into this kind of peaceful worldbuilder game. Especially the freedom to decorate any tile entirely as you wish with the provided decorations (and even create presets of decorated tiles for easy reuse) is, as far as I know as a non-expert of the genre, fairly unique and could be quite appealing to those who love to decorate their game world in creative sandbox games like e.g. The Sims. The music is also somewhat reminiscent of The Sims' build mode music, both games have an atmospheric soundtrack that fits the chill vibes well. I look forward to seeing how the game evolves in early access!
A cozy game for in between to relax. If you are creative (I'm not) you can build beautiful idyllic places, farms, forests or a little “industry”, even outside the creative mode. From a certain progress on the map you simply can't have too few resources ;-) There could have been more Achievements, the current ones can be achieved after a few hours, some of you will certainly achieve them faster :)
