About
Everlife is a fast-paced maze game where you must survive a mysterious realm that you have fallen into. This version of the game is the original version, and it contains chapters 1 and 2.
You are tasked with collecting stars from a variety of worlds, and returning safely. There are three different dimensions available, do you have what it takes to survive?
You are never safe in the dimensions. Dash at high speeds to the star, or to safety. Outmaneuver the monsters and make split second decisions to stay in one piece!
You are equipped with a special weapon. With it, you are granted special abilities. Use them to defend, deter, and escape danger. You'll start with only one ability, but you'll gain a new ability at the start of every level!

FIRST PERSON PACMAN CAW CAW BUT THERE IS NO PELLETS TO GOBBLE WHEN YOU GET DESPERATE CAW CAW
tl:dr at the bottom
Unfortunately I cannot recommend the game as it is right now. This may change as the game is developed and issues are fixed but in this state it's almost unplayable. If I could describe the game in one word/phrase it would be: Frustrating. First (and only) level is wayyy too difficult. Not in a challenging way, rather in an annoying way where it's almost impossible to move around the stage without being dogpiled on by 50 ghosts at once. The stun gun is almost useless in that it almost takes a whole 10 seconds to recharge after one use, which is just not enough to fend off the amount of ghosts running around. Speaking of ghosts, they move incredibly fast, have huge hitboxes and laugh obnoxiously every 3-5 seconds which clutters the already crowded soundscape with the music and sfx and makes it almost impossible to move around the mansion without bumping into them often. Another very minor gripe is the lack of support for ultrawide monitors, and this certainly isn't a huge flaw, just an oversight of the small community of ultrawide users. Currently some splash screens, cutscenes and dialog veer to the left side of the screen if using an ultrawide resolution. The visuals are a little rough around the edges and could do with some love, though i'm aware this is a bit of a nitpick as it's in alpha. I can however praise the game's pretty unique premise of going in, collecting something and getting the hell out, and with a steep (but manageable) learning curve I could see the game being quite enjoyable for quick in and out sessions. The map is implemented well and I feel it could be used to solve a problem outlined above (more on that in a bit). I recognise this is one of the developer's first ever ventures into making a game for a wider audience and I don't doubt that the game will improve over time along with the developer's ability, so i have some suggestions for improvements:

The map could double as a radar, showing enemy locations as they approach you rather than having them make a noise every so often.
Crosshair would be nice, but not necessary, as i recognise the stun gun is supposed to be used when enemies are within close range.
POV could be shifted up a tad, as it is right now everything in the environment feels a bit too big compared to the player.
A few too many ghosts and they move a bit fast, though this issue has mostly been recognised.
That about does it for now, I may have missed a few things but that was the general gist of my experience. Overall I really appreciate the effort to make something unique in the sea of garbage that is Steam, and i'll happily recommend this game when some of the issues are fixed along with some more content to chew on but until then, I can't recommend you spend too much time in this game.
not unless you want to lose all of your hair anyway

time played does not reflect actual playtime, as most of it was in offline mode

tl:dr
Frustrating gameplay, too difficult for no apparent reason, lack of content. Avoid for now, but keep an eye on it for future.

Promising little game from a new developer! Excited to see more - it's really tough but my son and I got addicted to trying to get past the first area. We managed to get the star and almost back to the beginning but haven't completed that first level....yet! Can't wait to see more.

This game as is very different to most games I tend to play. After checking it out on the store page, it peaked my interest. I have to say I'm impressed that this seems to be the developers first game. It appears more like something a seasoned developer would release. I really liked the story concept and graphic style. The game play seems to work fine for me and the game did not crash or stutter at any point. On the main menu you can select easy mode and I did use it first, so I could do a quick check of the level before I started over on the default game mode setting. I am enjoying the game and can hardly wait for chapter 2 to be released. I certainty recommend you download and play chapter 1. You have nothing to lose as it's free. I believe chapter 2 will be a paid release and I will be buying it for sure. The developer will go on my list of developers that I keep an eye out for to check out their future games, because I know they will more than likely be very good release's.
