There are rumors in EVE Online that the developers themselves are actively involved in piracy. The more I learned about the game's mechanics, the more I became convinced this wasn't just a rumor—the game is designed so that pirates always win and feel perfectly comfortable destroying unarmed player ships. There used to be modules that allowed unarmed miners to escape from a pirate (developer), and the pirates (developers) really didn't like it. Eventually, the developers (pirates) removed these modules! If a pirate (developer) wants to kill you, you can't escape; you have to let the pirate destroy your ship—that's EVE Online! As I delved deeper into the game's lore, I became convinced again that the developers wanted to create a game where it would be comfortable to destroy peaceful players, not a well-designed game universe. For example, you want to mine resources on a planet, you mine, and get nothing. How is that possible?! The government you belong to has allowed everyone to destroy their own planetary stations and create stations for players who destroyed government property! And yet they're imposing a 100% tax!!! Is this insanity?! — No, this is EVE Online! Maybe you want to mine asteroids?! A pirate will destroy you there! On 04 (government territory), no one will come to your aid! And if you resist a pirate, your government will allow them to destroy your pilot! So, governments don't give a damn about their taxpayers! Don't resist pirates — this is EVE Online! I could tell you a ton of crazy stuff about both the game mechanics and the lore, but this game isn't even worth what I've already written. I'm glad Omega's online player base is dwindling, and I'm glad it will become so high that CCP goes bankrupt. Maybe the new owners will make a game for all players, not just the developers (pirates)!

Complex and very rewarding.
It's the game I've been playing the longest while still playing the least.
