I Enjoyed this game very much. I was surprised it was developed by one lone developer. I have since played Clair and about to play The Butler which all together is a triology of games by this developer. Highly recommend playing these games.
I really enjoyed this. I played both endings. I hope for more games from the developer. I just wish the game was longer. I recommend this game.
This Game is a phenomenal masterclass is horror and suspense. The world building is incredible and the overall atmosphere of dread and anxiety is something else. A highly recommended horror experience for fans of the genre. There are multiple endings possible - so try to keep your wits about you when uncovering the full story. The next in the series, "Claire" is in my Library and ready to go... I may need a pacemaker for that if it's anything like Ethel.... I'm keen to uncover these stories in full as the release of the in-universe, "The Butler", beckons on 17/04/2026. Tony Shoulders is the modern day Hitchcock for his understanding of tension and suspense.

Great job ANTHONY RUSSO ! Keep up the good work ! :D
The last few months I have played a number of indie horror games and this is one of my favourite, I have just started playing Claire the next game from this developer and so far I have lots of positives to say about this game too . The scares are truly awesome, if I had to say anything that both games could improve on is the checkpoint save is quit away into each game, so i would like a few more saves. i would like to thank the developer for a truly enjoyable experience.
I absolutely loved this game. Story was unique and well paced. Sound design really amped up the fear element a ton. The game essentially demanded that you pay attention to the lore / storytelling which I personally appreciated. Especially for a solo dev, this was a really great game. Played it twice and you should too!
Ethel is a slow-burn horror experience that focuses on atmosphere, tension, and psychological fear rather than cheap jumpscares — and it does it really well. From the very beginning, the game creates a heavy, unsettling mood. The sound design is excellent, making every step and silence feel uncomfortable. The environments are detailed and immersive, pulling you deeper into the story as you explore. What really stands out is the pacing. The game knows when to stay quiet and when to strike, keeping you constantly on edge. The story unfolds naturally through exploration, which makes everything feel more personal and disturbing. If you enjoy atmospheric horror games that rely on tension, mystery, and storytelling, Ethel is absolutely worth playing. It’s creepy, engaging, and stays with you even after you finish.
This was a great game. Especially for a new developer! Congrats!!
