"Escape From Zombietown" is, well, I'm not sure if this is an asset flip but it sure looks like one. You know the deal... zombie assets, you have to shoot them in the Unreal Engine. It kinda works as a game but it's not great. 20 levels, a variety of guns... we can disregard the "scammy" aspect that one would expect from an asset flip because this is free, so that's something. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 11 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Edit: Nope, this is definitely an asset flip. Here's one of the asset packs the developer stole: https://free3d.com/3d-model/cartoon-zombies-pack-low-poly-unreal-unity-game-ready-3846.html Asset flips are bad for everyone. They give indie devs a bad name.

scape from Zombietown takes the well-worn zombie FPS formula and splashes it with a bucket of pastel paint. Instead of grimy alleys and gore-soaked ruins, you’re running and gunning through bubblegum-pink storefronts, mint-green cottages, and lavender high-rises—cute, but crawling with the undead. The zombies themselves are more adorable than terrifying, wobbling toward you with big eyes and clumsy movements. Don’t be fooled, though: the game throws them at you in droves, and sometimes the sheer volume tips into overwhelming. My only real complaint is that the screen can feel too cluttered with shambling cuties, making it easy to get cornered before you realize it. Where Zombietown shines is in its sense of discovery. Exploring each of the 20 medium-sized levels pays off with a surprisingly broad arsenal. One moment you’re clearing hallways with a pump shotgun, the next you’re mowing down waves with a tommy-gun—it keeps things fresh and makes replays worthwhile. The levels themselves aren’t massive, but they’re tricky enough to take a few attempts to master. Tying it all together is the “mysterious stranger,” a voice in your ear with a thick Bronx accent that adds both humor and charm. His quips land with perfect comedic timing, whether he’s warning you about an ambush or poking fun at your less-than-graceful escape attempt. Overall, Escape from Zombietown is a cheerful twist on zombie shooters: colorful, lighthearted, and funny without skimping on action. If you don’t mind a few too many zombies at once, it’s a delightful ride through an undead playground. Rating: 8/10 — Cute, chaotic, and surprisingly clever.
Good idea for the game, like the voice acting which made the game funny and the steam button layout system works with this game if you are using controller. Needs improvement but if you want a new game to play thats funny, try it out yourself.
Tremendo juego. Muiy bien hecho. La dificultad justa. La cantidad de niveles justos. Divertido, entretenido, variado.. lo super recomiendo

Fun little game. Glad I played it. Some bits were a bit cryptic, but figured them out and completed it ;) Hope to play more from the same creator.
It's great, fun, and FREE!!! Yeah it's low budget and very repetitive. But it's fun for a little bit and there's no harm in trying it.
