This was an okay attempt at a game. It's missing almost everything that would make something like this interesting or suspenseful, but it's simple, straightforward and very generic. Firstly, it feels like this environment was assembled from random assets. I could literally see the default Unreal Engine chair model in the mess hall. Using assets would be fine, however in this case they are there to create a really dry and boring environment. Like have you ever seen how a submarine looks from the inside? It's extremely dense, and claustraphobic, with small hallways and rooms, endless pipes and crawlspaces. All of that is missing here, the hallways and rooms are gigantic and I never felt cornered or in a tight spot. Feels like that's a missed opportunity. All this would be okay, however the game claims to be in the cosmic horror genre. I can tell you, there is nothing cosmic horror here, which is really unfortunate sadly. Lovecraftian horror is not about running from some crab monster.

If you would like to check out my game play & Overall Thoughts you can see it right here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ACUKnSo1kg&ab_channel=AlexMcLarry%27sLife Escape From The Depth is a fantastic free to play horror game, Where most games make you pay 1-15 dollars for the same kind of experience, this game is free! The map, lighting, sound design, and overall feel of the game, is great! Eerie, creepy, good! The voice acting as well, is very good and defiantly helped the game along, Especially Galileo. The ending was semi disappointing, and the game over all is pretty short, but hey, its a free game! So nothing real to complain about. If the devs decide to make a fully flushed out single player horror experience, I would 100% check it out. (If you make anything like soma it will be an instant win lmao)
Ended too soon. I was expecting to have to pilot the craft or survive on land. Not a bad game tho.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. (John 3:16-17)
THERE IS ONLY SALVATION IN CHRIST JESUS

WE ARE ALL SINNERS AND SIN SEPARATES US FROM GOD
For “ALL” have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
WE NEED TO REPENT FROM OUR SINS
He who covers up his sins will not prosper; but he who confesses them and turns away will obtain mercy (Proverbs 28:13).
JESUS CHRIST IS THE "ONLY MEDIATOR"
Because there is only one God, and only one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5). In the beginning he was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1.1). And that Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (John 1.14). The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said, "Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world" (John 1:29). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the only one who can give us eternal life and save us from the wrath to come. Salvation is not through saints, virgins, angels or archangels, or under any other name. And in no other is there salvation; for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
THE PATIENCE OF GOD IS TO LEAD US TO REPENTANCE
But God, having overlooked the times of this ignorance, now commands all men everywhere to repent; because he has established a day in which he will judge the world with justice, by that man whom he appointed (this is his Son Jesus Christ of him), giving faith to all with having raised him from the dead (Acts 17 : 30-31). The Lord does not delay his promise, as some consider it tardy, but he is patient with us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3: 9).
HOW TO SAVE ME FROM THE WRATH TO COME?
So, repent and convert, so that your sins may be erased; so that times of refreshment may come from the presence of the Lord, (Acts 3:19).
CHRIST IS COMING SOON
And while he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him apart, saying: Tell us, when will these things be, and what sign will there be of your coming, and of the end of the age? Answering Jesus, he said to them: See that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, saying: I am the Christ; and they will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not disturbed, because it is necessary for all this to happen; but it's not the end yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be plagues, and famines, and earthquakes in different places. And all this will be the "beginning of sorrows" (Matthew 24.3-8).
SURRENDER TO JESUS WITH ALL YOUR HEART
That if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9).
Repeat this prayer if you are sorry for your sins:
“Lord Jesus, today I recognize that I am a sinner. Now I know that you died for the love of my soul on the cross of Calvary -taking my place- and that you rose from the dead on the third day, and that now you live and reign. I ask you to wash me with your precious blood and erase from me all my sins and my rebellions and make me a new creature. Today I give you my life and my heart, I want to know you, I accept you as my only and sufficient Savior and as my Lord. Write my name in the book of life and never erase it, Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen!. To be saved, it is necessary to take the step and make a sincere surrender to Christ with a repentant heart, abandoning the path of sin, now going on the path of God, which is the path of holiness, without which no one will see God. This is the beginning of a new life because in Christ Jesus we are born again: “So if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things passed away; behold, all things are made new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
YOU DECIDE!
Even for a free game this game is just not a good horror experience. Now this might've just been some project a group of friends wanted to make together which by that standard it's an ok game but it's still not except from criticism. Let's start off with the atmosphere, one of the most important things to get players immersed in the world: it's not really there. Yeah it's dark and there's some destroyed stuff and a couple blood splatters on the floor but that's basically it. This game is supposed to take place in the deep ocean in a submarine but there's nothing that makes it's really look or feel like a submarine, you can't look out any windows and see the deep blue ocean and there's almost no ambient sounds. Now let me talk about the monster and the map layout. I'm not gonna critique the monster's looks because even though he does kinda look like a generic The Thing-esque monster (which might have just been a free asset found online) I feel like as long as he ends up keeping you vigilant and scared when playing it does it's job, but it doesn't because if you just keep going down the middle path you will almost never see him. For whatever reason the developers never thought players would only go down the middle route and I can confirm this because on my second playthrough I did for the other ending (which I talk about later) there was a scripted chase from the monster you only get if you go down one of the side paths that I didn't see when I played the first time. Letting the monster go into the middle paths and even the rooms themselves would make him more threatening. But even if he did he still wouldn't be scary because you have to be like right in front of him for him to start chasing you, also the chase music sounds so generic and not scary, and you can outrun him so easily. By the way you can sprint the whole game because there's no limit and the monster just can't hear it. Also maybe giving the monster some growling sounds or something other then just walking noises would at least make him sound threatening. Kinda Spoiler Territory... I guess I also want to talk about about the protagonist and the AI's voice acting, the protagonist doesn't sound scared at all the entire time, even when he's sounds angry it doesn't seem convincing. Also for some reason halfway through the game when it should be clearly obvious that the ship is empty and the crew-mates either escaped or are dead he starts angrily asking the AI "What happened to everyone?" like what do you mean "what happened" it's obvious. Also when the AI voice starts turning evil thanks to the combination of "scary" effects on his voice and the voice actually being one of those AI voices from like Uberduck or something makes it really hard to understand him and that wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the fact that those are the only times the subtitles do not show up, also the subtitles have a few grammatical errors which while they aren't that bad it's still distracting and can help turn you horror game into a comedy, also if the developer decided to make a game with a more complicated plot or gameplay grammatical errors get make it hard to understand so please get someone to proof read your game to prevent this. Now let's talk about the "multiple endings" which is implementing in one of the bland ways possible: just making a choice at the last part of the game. The first ending is when you just use the exit door and it cuts to credits screen, no cutscene, no new dialogue, not even a wall of text explaining what happened to the protagonist, just the credits, which is extra disappointing consider how the AI mentioned there is a lack of an atmosphere and it's apparently irradiated outside which would be interesting if it was explained more. Now the other ending consists of you interacting with an alien egg that's in the middle of the room and at first when you interact with it it just looks like it cut to the credits screen again but there is actually some dialogue that plays where the AI says you brought whatever the "heart of Europa" into the ship and basically starting whatever and the protagonist denies it and then the AI says more stuff you can't understand. But still the ending sucks and it doesn't really explain what little plot there is. To end this review I want to say that the developers, if they want to continue down the path of horror games, should listen to my criticism of this game to improve their next ones and to not be discouraged by negative reviews like this one, I hope they continue their dreams of being game developers... or whatever else they want to be.
Pros: It works and isn't very buggy. Cons: Everything else. The subtitles work about 60% of the time, the writing makes no sense, the grammar obviously hasn't been checked by anyone who knows English properly, there is basically zero risk since you never really see the creature past the first encounter (and if you do, it's slower than you so you can just outrun it), and the entire game is literally 5-ish minutes long. All you do is grab 1 item from each room and then go to the escape pod, after which the game just... ends. As soon as you click on the "escape pod" it fades to the credits screen. There's also zero indication of it being a submarine, it just feels like a regular base or a spaceship of some sort.
