Escape from Mandrillia is a local asymmetric VR + PC horror game. A single player using the VR headset takes the role of a robot escaping an underground facility full of alien apes known as the Mandrillians. Up to 2 players at the computer can either help the VR player fight the Mandrillians, or control the Mandrillians themselves.
VR GAMEPLAY
On the VR side, the gameplay is a survival horror/stealth shooter.
Evade the Mandrillians, or face them -just remember the odds are against you!
Use your battery-powered Multitool to cloak, detect nearby enemies, or stun them if things get hairy.
Search for any weapon you can get your hands on -there's over 20 unique weapons, from conventional firearms to flamethrowers, crossbows, chainsaws and more!
Progress by locating keycards and solving minigames to open new sections until you can finally escape
In coop mode, maintain, repair, and reload your drone allies
PC GAMEPLAY
The PC players control either the Mandrillians or friendly combat drones.
Use your monkey senses to track down the VR player
Augment your abilities with cybernetic military upgrades
Quickly move around the map using the air vents
Psychologically torture the VR player like a true apex predator
Alternatively, join forces with the robot and fight the Mandrillian enemies
Match modifiers let you tweak every single parameter in the game: HP values, the way the PC players respawn, loot styles/progression, monster weakpoint calculations...
The included Match Presets are pre-curated clusters of match modifiers you can instantly apply. Think the PC players need a bit of an advantage? Use Mandrillian Bias. Or if you feel too overwhelmed, go for Robot Bias. Maybe you want a full survival horror experience where you start with no weapons and the monsters are almost indestructible? Horror Mode is for you. Or maybe you just want to unwind and let endless hordes of Mandrillians come at you and mow them down with heavy weaponry: Super Soldier got you covered.
You can mix and match all these settings and presets with no restrictions -sky's the limit!
Don't want anybody getting their filthy hands on your expensive computer? Not a problem! With Steam Remote Play, you are one invite away from playing with any of your Steam friends!

[h1] Poorly made VR controls. [/h1] VR locomotion set on hand only. Can't change it to head. Grabs work badly and inconsistent. Most of the time it is not possible to use both hands to hold, e.g, pistol clip and a bullet to load it in. [h3] I tried playing through Steam Remote Play Together. [/h3] For some reason quick tab menu (shift+tab) is not opening. Can't change settings to play with mouse+keyboard for my friends. They are forced to play on controler. Extreme amount of writings. It is hard to grab and play. Friends didn't enjoy playing on split screen either and left after the first start. Without quality of life updates I don't recommend to play it. Dear developer, solve such issues and try again. [h3] Simplify the settings a ton. [/h3]
Игра бомба! Я успел против компа немного поиграть в VR и мне прям сразу зашло! Все довольно удобно сделано. Оружия очень много и оно реально круто сделано! Здесь можно в магазин для пистолета можно пули отдельно добавить! Единственное, что не очень удобно на данный момент, это то что можно схватить рукоятку оружия той же кнопкой, что и на стрельбу. Лучше как в Pavlov VR разделить кнопки которые отвечают за хватание магазина и патронов + затвор и отдельно чтоб браться за рукоятки оружия. Но пока ранний доступ, это скорее просто придирка. Потенциал у игры очень большой, с друзьями будет просто огонь ) Цель у игры простая - робот должен либо сбежать, либо перебить всех врагов, Мандриллы должны убить роботов. И вот разнообразия средств достижения цели тут прям достаточно даже сейчас ))

Gameplay incompréhensible. L'équilibrage entre le joueur VR et le joueur PC est inexistant. Le joueur VR est désespérément trop faible, et ses mécanismes d'actions sont trop lourds et maladroits face au joueur adverse qui est beaucoup trop puissant, disposant de mécanismes de déplacement ultra rapides avec 10 vies à sa disposition (!!) tandis que le joueur VR n'a qu'une seule chance. C'est incompréhensible et injouable. Demande de remboursement.

Honestly, I think this game is probably amazing but it just suffers from being a local game. The only way to play with friends is with steam remote play or something like parsec. It's mostly an issue on my end as I don't have ethernet but I can't recommend this game.
might appeal to some but it didnt to me unfortunately.
Barely anyone to play with, if you want to play with friends don't get it. But it is a scary experience for VR i got jumpscared.
