Good core game play loop with promising development
This game with its very pixelated, blurred graphics, funny sound effects and silly weapons give a realy strange gameplay experience. Alot of small details on maps and main weapon ammo reload visual. On every levelup you can choose a passive effect then next an active skill. Every character have a special weapon and you can choose a ranged firearm as secondary. All weapons and skills auto-shoot-aim as we used to it in this genre. There is enough progress to unlock with Meta passives, characters and weapons. Recommended little silly game. Edit Note: The game recently changed to Unity 6, therefore it do NOT run on Win7/8/8.1 by default, only on Win10/11 and likely Linux. Hopefuly the Dev update Store Page accordingly.
Loving this game so far. It took a little while to get into the swing of things, but a few hours in I'm much more comfortable and can easily beat the rounds. The weapons are unique and funny, the new upgrade system is great. My only real gripe is the music. There are 2 or 3 songs I think that tend to just loop and are a little grating over time. I personally just have a youtube video playing in PiP with the music off. Def worth the $3.
the game is a bit hectic at the beginning but its fun and the art is nice.
Games only in early access but as it stands right now it is a very solid, fun survival game. Once you figure out a good build the game is hard to put down
Fun game with good pixel art. Mechanics & abilities work pretty well with each other & it's fun to survive until you're OP
I really like the art
Poor Vampire Survivors clone. +Some player choice -Dreadful music -Visuals -UX/UI = Disappointed. I would not recommend the game for myself, so I won't do it to you either. Survivors-like (aka bullet heaven) are some of my favorite video game genres, that often they tempt me to invest many hours in them, with the exception of Entomophobia. I rarely drop games, but Entomophobia was so bad that it forced me to do that. The lack of content variety, the unbearable difficulty and the annoying glitches are some of the reasons I dislike this game. It's especially low in quality when in comparison with the top games of this genre, like Vampire Survivors and HoloCure. You can see in detail below what's really bad about Entomophobia. - Bad UI, very incompatible with controller layout (the interface glitches every single time). - Pixel art overall is bad looking, all models look magnified and very low resolution. - Unfair difficulty: most runs feel RNG, I tried different combinations of weapons and characters, but I seem to lose 90% of the time. Permanent upgrades don't seem to power up your characters, I noticed no changes in the gameplay. - Lack of tutorials: there are these "worms" that apparently fight by your side, but it's not mentioned anywhere in the game what exactly they are and how they work. Same thing for other statistics, like "zap target" and "heal damage". - Badly optimized: when the screen is swarmed by enemies and gems, the game starts lagging. When you pick up the gold beetle (an item to collect all at once every gems on the map), the game freezes for 2-5 seconds. By the way, my PC runs Vampire Survivors without an issue. - No endless mode: basically all levels are survive till the 20-minute mark and game over, that's it. Not even a final stage boss or bonus currency for beating the level. I bought Entomophobia because it was quite cheap on sale, but even if it were free I wouldn't recommend it. It's unpleasant to play a game in this messy state.
