This game is a cringe fiesta. Im sure the developer intended this to be a deep and emotional game, but I feel the execution fired backwards.

Nice game :)
Огромные бессмысленные и долгие растянутые локации...графон, сюжет...вот все в игре отстойно. Спасибо за убитое время. Не спасли даже лесбиянки.

A horror game starring lesbians? yes please!
A rare horror game that managed to crawl under my skin. Poor Angelica.
The running movement in this game is one of the worst and most annoying I had ever the pleasure to experience. The game feels, looks and plays like one of those cheap asset flip games. Hard pass for me.
I was initially intrigued due to the nature of it being a psychological horror game, however, I feel that "Enola" tried to tackle too many subjects and themes that overall resulted in a jumbled and poorly handled narrative. The "monsters" that you encounter randomly throughout the game felt cheap and like the game needed jumpscares in order to say at every literal point that these men were monsters. I understand that the game attempted to go "all in" with the psychological horror aspect by tackling the morality in choosing someone's fate based on their most horrendous actions, but I felt it too often resorted to shock factors. There was less focus on Enola and Angelica's relationship, besides the notes, and more on the option to torture the offenders. It was pretty clear from the beginning, at least to me, what Angelica dealt with in her past, and how she was still haunted by it and questioned her safety, but the physical need to see each trauma and read explicit details trivialized the character's story in my opinion. The last third of the game or so focused heavily on the moral issues, with random scenarios of murderers and kidnappers leading up to what Angelica went through, but it was too repetitive to be effective, especially in deciding who to kill and who to spare. The timelines were often hard to follow in regards to the notes and who said what, with some obvious typos throughout the game. The voice acting was decent enough, but would have been better with a stronger script. The writing felt disjointed and all over the place, like it was trying to address too many things at once and be mysterious which just left me confused. I couldn't become fully invested in the main characters because of this. "Enola" may have held its own if it solely focused on Angelica and had a tighter script and design level. The level design instilled a creepy atmosphere, though there were frequent scenes where it was impossibly dark (even with the brightness adjusted). There were also certain areas where you had to continually try each and every door or circle back to other points which quickly became tedious. Some of the puzzles were interesting, like the days/months/years part, but other puzzles with the numbers and math equation seemed to be out of nowhere. For the most part, I didn't mind the graphics, but some elements of the surroundings looked dated (especially the characters), and quite clunky, even for the year. A few times, I got physically stuck and also had the game not register what items I'd already collected. I felt "Enola" could have held more purpose if the world wasn't so "open", as some of the areas I had to wander were quite bare and the direction unclear. While the locations such as the underworld and factory added to the horror aspect of not knowing what to expect, there wasn't enough lore or depth behind them, resulting in too much empty space and too many doors/pathways that made the game drag on, even though four hours is a relatively short game time. I thought the idea was great at first, unveiling more about Enola's partner and her past, how she hid her trauma out of shame and not knowing how it would be perceived. There was such potential for an in-depth exploration of coping and the emotional turmoil a person can struggle with years after the fact, but the game bit off more than it could chew and story-wise, it could have been stronger. I don't mind horror aspects when they're done well with sensitivity and purpose to the story, but the game's execution was lackluster and lacked coherency throughout.
