I strongly recommend this and Endless Bounty. The creative team have done an excellent job with both these games, worth every hour i spent and then some, love the story, characters and the ambition to expand the Lorithel world. Be sure to listen to the soundtrack on YouTube when you get the chance, fantastic to work too.
This game is fantastic, it exceeded my expectations for it. I was able to steal a pair of my dads underwear and show it off to characters in the first 2 minutes. The game blends the steamy content with well-written characters and world leading to an ultimately deeply touching story. Visually the whole game is beautiful from the cutscenes to the backgrounds. The OST is both charming and fitting. While playing this game I experienced a sequence of events that will stick with me for a long time. I’d detail it here but it is in mega spoiler territory. I really enjoyed piecing together the different characters' relationships with each other. The puzzles and quests were quite fun to figure them out, though I did have to check a guide for a few things. [strike] (I get lost easily) [/strike] Biggest drawbacks were loading times between zones feeling a bit longer than I would expect from this game. Not game breaking at all. And one of the final achievements required me to start a second playthrough to talk to a certain character in the prologue again. Thankfully, it just took a few minutes and not a whole new playthrough. Ultimately, I am left hoping there is a sequel and will be checking out the developer’s previous game Endless Bounty. Also if you buy this, then press ALT+Enter to get fullscreen. It says how to in the controls but some people miss it.
A really gorgeous game. Delightfully Saucy but also wonderfully heartfelt. Just enough puzzle and challenge. Loved the music and the art. Faranel sounds soft yet engaging, waiting to be unraveled. The sets and backgrounds are just as breathtaking as the hot and heavy scenes. Also getting more and more invested in the world building, hoping for a third title from this team. The care that went into this one (and Endless Bounty) is really apparent. Really not to be missed if this is your genre!
The writing, pixel art, and music in this game are amazingly wonderful! All of the dateable characters have their very own charisma and I love all of them (especially the baker bara dragon Kal and his secret menu, then the pacific giant... I'm so grateful), but the bonding between Calen and Warrick got me quite emotional - they're so freaking adorable! I like how you get to learn the fantasy world via conversations between characters, it's fascinating and fun. Even though it took me awhile to get all of the achievements, I enjoyed every moment in this game, 10/10!
It's pretty good! The story is very cute, the pixel art is charming, and the music is nice. I also find it very funny (and useful) on how discrete they are that its a porn game 💀, like you would NOT be able to tell from a first glance. Some of the collectables can be tedious to find, but the guides available are pretty useful for getting all the achievements (and say gex scenes you pervert).
Premise This review reflects my personal experience with the game. While I aim to write thoughtfully and as fairly as possible, my reviews are subjective in nature and should not be used as objective metrics to assess/critique a game. You begin the game as knight, ready to serve for the king, under the guidance of a talented and protective squire. It’s not a heavy, plot-driven experience. Most of the time, you’re moving between areas, talking to people and unlocking scenes while following one strong central narrative. Some interactions stand out more than others. Certain characters feel like they have more thought put into them, while others feel more like they exist to support the game’s… other content ^_^. I didn’t mind that much, but it seemed a bit of a missed opportunity for some of the characters. If you’re going in expecting a deep or emotional storyline, this game will deliver exactly that. It's a beautiful coming-of-age love letter to chivalry and romantic love, whilst also adding many intimate moments. Representation (★★★★★) The game is very upfront about being focused on male x male content and it doesn’t try to hide or soften that. There’s a good range of character types, both in design and personality, so it doesn’t feel like you’re just cycling through the same archetype. Some lean more playful, others more dominant or reserved and that variety helps keep things interesting. The game does an excellent job in creating an interplay between races and gently reflects on societal issues such as racism and discrimination. It definitely leans more into fantasy and erotic appeal than realism, but that’s clearly the intention. If you’re here for bara-style characters and explicit interactions, it delivers on that. Gameplay (★★★★★) This is where the game separates itself from most BL titles on Steam. Instead of being a straight visual novel, you’re actually moving through the world in a 2D platformer style, exploring areas, interacting with characters and unlocking events as you go. It gives the experience more movement and makes it feel less static. The controls are simple and easy to pick up and getting around the map feels smooth. You’re not dealing with anything overly complex, but it adds enough interaction to keep things from feeling repetitive. Progression is tied to exploration and interaction rather than strict systems, which works well for this type of game. Art & Direction (★★★★★) This is easily the strongest part of the game. Character designs are detailed, expressive and clearly the main focus. The variety in body types and personalities stands out, especially if you’re into bara-style characters. The animated scenes are where the game really puts its effort. They’re fluid, well-presented, feeling like a step above what you usually see in this space. Backgrounds and environments are simpler, but they do their job. I loved the pixelated art style, inspired to designs from the 90's early 2000. Do I recommend it? Yes, if you know what you’re coming for. If you want a M/M game that mixes exploration with character interactions and leans heavily into explicit, animated bara content, this is worth your time. The platformer-style movement helps it stand out, and the art is gorgeous.
So far only 30min into the game and it's been doing alright but can this be YouTube friendly if I blur out the ♥♥♥♥♥ lol. Trying a walkthrough of the game and glad I did not stop at the Demo. Thanks for putting the game together I been having a lot of laughs with it.
Enjoyed this game!
Only a couple hours in, but I enjoy the nostalgia-laced music and the easy-going but interesting quests and puzzles I've come across thus far! The story is quaint but is well-paced. I may leave more feedback once I play more of the game.
