«Endlessness»
Endlessness is about as bare-bones as a racing survival game can get. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hONbKtwe1JM With three levels that are all virtually the same and identical gameplay on each of them, there is no real reason to give this game a try. Even the developer seems to think so as they are currently barely in the top 50% of the leaderboard. The premise behind Endlessness is that you control a speeder in a level and collect orbs in order to increase your score and restore the countdown timer at the bottom of the screen. The speeder bike handles like a bouncy ball and has a hard time turning or stopping whenever you attempt to control it. If you so much as touch any of the rocks littered throughout the levels you will instantly lose, except for the times where I touched a bunch of rocks and it just shot me up in the air. Camera controls are non-existent so you will often find yourself sitting and waiting for the camera to slowly turn back to the proper position when you spin out after experiencing the awful handling. There are three levels in Endlessness, each of them has a different visual aesthetic with volcano, ice and desert being present. Aside from the different colours, there is nothing else to distinguish these levels and they have no effect on gameplay. The character and speeder bike used in the game are from a Unity asset pack called Realistic Hovercraft Controller. The developer did not make any of it or bother to edit more than a couple colour shades. Using Unity assets is fine in games, but at least make an effort to give it your own twist or identity. When it's this blatant it makes a game look cheap. In the description the developer says "Endlessness is a simple game made by one person for a rest from big and complex games. Please think about that before buying." If the developer needed to put that in their description in an attempt to ward off people who are going to call out a game for being lazy and filled with assets, then they also know it's not a good video game. If this is such a big concern for the developer, then please just make something with effort put in. I actually consider myself pretty forgiving towards most games provided they seem like they had some goal behind making it besides trying to make a quick buck using assets from other people. Please, put some effort in and make something you believe in. If you found this review helpful, follow me on Curator to see everything I cover. http://store.steampowered.com/curator/29029552/

I wouldn't buy it for 90 cents. I would only buy it for 89 cents.
This was certainly a ride... The premise of driving across endless terrain is nice, for the most part the game does deliver on its promised relaxation, and it's not like it was expensive, but the problems far outweigh any satisfaction that can be found. The game looks fine more-or-less,although I'm pretty sure I've seen this exact dude on a hoverbike before, and I've definitely heard this music in other games,so I assume this is made entirely with assets... Guess there's nothing technically wrong with that... There are three maps, all of which are just expanses filled with rocks to try and avoid while driving, the dust and lava levels seem pretty much identical, the ice level seems to have more hills, the hills can be useful as you hang in the air for a bit when you yeet off the top, and can plan a bit of your route on the way down.[ there's also a bit of a "WHEEE!" factor] Then again I may be entirely mistaken and all maps may be identical except for color. None of that is too bad,but now onto the 2 big problems: the fuel, and the score... As you drive you use fuel, which can be replenished by collecting little orbs scattered throughout the map...and they are SCATTERED,you can often drive for large stretches without encountering any,and some will be placed to where you just can't get em,all the while your fuel depletes. If you find yourself literally up against a wall, you can jump over it,but the amount of fuel jumping uses makes it where you may as well have just crashed and started over. One of the games achievements requires you score over 10k points, you get points for every orb you pick up,and the longer you drive uninterrupted you get a multiplier,of up to 4x...but if you turn too sharply [like say,to avoid a rock, which the map is full of nothing but.] your multiplier can completely deplete in an instant, and you're probably not gonna have enough fuel to get it back up before you're out...At the time I'm writing this,I am one of EXACTLY TWO people on the leaderboard who has a score over 10k So you can have a nice relaxing drive...until you abruptly crash or run out of gas... And you can try for that highscore...which is largely gonna depend on how lucky you are in finding fuel/keeping multiplier up/not wrecking on everything... But that's all this game has going for it. I've played worse games than this,if the experience had been unbearable I wouldn't have spent 4.5 hours driving around, but it's fuel/score problems mixed with it seemingly being nothing but assets certainly doesn't make it good. But hey... I got to be #1 on a leaderboard...that's cool I guess? It was a long drive...it could have been worse, but I'd recommend taking another route.
