Great board games that can be played both solo or up to four people. the avatars feel like someone is playing with you. hehe and they are funny. you can collect little trinkets like a coo coo clock with game "bucks". hehe one thing some of them dont always work because maybe this is such an old game.

I've played pretty much all of the previous versions of this game (the Hoyle ones, this might have been a licensing issue) on virtual machines and the like and honestly, I don't mind this version. It might be because I only do the Crossword games but it feels like all the other ones I've played.

After leaving a review with a big thumbs down, I played this game a bit more and decided to edit my review, although I still have several complaints about this game. Some of my initial complaints actually can be fixed in game, but it's still a buggy mess. The chess game will randomly end in a draw if the PC moves its king too many times. And the Tetris game is completely broken. Trying to open it causes the game to crash. I miss the characters that weren't included in this game but were in the old Hoyle Classic Board Games, and I really liked in the older game how there was a cool cabin setting where the seasons would change based on what month it is IRL. I do like that you can compliment/insult the other players, and the little in game store where you can use points to buy extra music and accessories. And some games are impossible to win. Like with Chinese Checkers, the PC players all work together to set up crazy long jumping chains while making sure to block the player as much as possible. At least the backgammon, checkers, and battle ship, and dominos games seem to work just fine, which is nice since I play them often. So yeah, it's okay. I like some of the newer features, but I just wish it was as good as it used to be.

Such a good old classic game make sure to watch out for Roswell he'll get you good he's such a dangerous alien with his big head. Also Harvey is a bloody monster at chess good luck trying to defeat him!

Fun selection of games. Recycled Hoyle games so the sound is not very consistent. I would rate it as a 3 - 4.

I was surprised to find out that all Encore classic collections work on [b]Linux[/b]. Very suited there. I guess this collection is OK. Quite a lot of games, but not nearly an advertised 1000. I've missed these in my time but played a lot of casino Hoyle/Encore games and it's nice to see and hear familiar faces, especially in chess. Looking at the Chinese checkers I think it would've nice to have Chinese chess too, but i don't think Hoyle Chinese Chess ever existed...

Вау у этой древней игры будет единственный обзор на русском! мой) ну или по крайне мере первый) Скажу так я лично приобрел эту игру так как у меня огромная ностальгия по ней)) одна из игр детства пхы) которая мне весьма запомнилась. Конечно тут не та версия игры по которой многие (кто играл) ностальгируют. в этой версий Много чего нового добавлено, но и много чего убрано...(зачем то) а так игра всё так же весьма вайбовая) но цена на это весьма завышена....ай яй яй
