EMPTY SHELL will throw you in a dark industrial environment, a secret facility on a Japanese island. Each volunteer has signed a contract for a "recovery operation" without being privy to too many details. A tense roguelite survival horror with a top down perspective.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Digging it. So good.
After trying this I've decided to tackle the Demo first. And after completing all of the Achievements for the Demo, I've finally decided to complete the real game. Some of the achievements were familiar but others were really something. The difficulty spike is noticeable after passing where the Demo stops. The enemy variety and density as well as the boss fights were really well balanced. Difficult but manageable. I was never mad when I needed to restart a level as it was mostly due to my mistakes. Practice makes perfect and this game nails that fine line between being difficult enough but not frustratingly so. The story and setting is unique as it is set on a Japanese island. The story is something that hooked me in along with this games amazing atmosphere. There is no soundtrack, just ambiental noise. The games perspective and art design complement each other well. It is played from top-down, kind of like a drone following you and that is why it is all black and white with all the greys. Gives that retro look and feel while also being integrated into the world and setting. The Silent Hill radio static also helps when you can't really distinguish live enemies from dead ones. Without it it would be frustrating. The game has punchy weapons and they are well telegraphed. Even the melee is satisfying to use when you learn to time it right with most enemies. Using the computer terminal is also well done, very immersive. This game does everything it can to pull you in and it doesn't let go until you turn it off. It is not a horror game, it is a very dark and atmospheric game. There are a lot of calm and slow moments and a lot of high intensity and high adrenaline moments that are really well mixed. A lof of secret rooms and passages creates replay value. New game + is even more of a challange due to having a max number of restarts (lives). Overall this game is great and I can't wait for the sequel.
got this game for 50p on LOADED and it was well worth it, although to be fair what isnt worth 50p
