Emme Saves the Galaxy - ★★★★☆ This game is a lot of wholesome fun. With its blend of Breakout and Peggle-inspired gameplay, inventive block types, and a protagonist that's as adorable as she is determined, this is an indie gem. Emme, we salute you!
Fun game with a nice mix of level difficulties. Cute main character I like that she has an eye patch and the cute noises. Its a good price for how much game there is!
Fun inexpensive game.
It's a really fun game!
"Emme Saves the Galaxy" is a cute cosmic adventure that combines cool block puzzle design and Breakout-style mechanics into a fun experience. Its charming pixel art, engaging gameplay, and endearing papillon protagonist make it a standout little game. Emme's journey to save the galaxy will leave you with a smile on your face.
The game was a very fun time. I have shown the game off a few times to people that I meet to show them that I met the creator. I attended the release party for the game and was happy to have found a solid community.
As I gazed upon the title "Emme Saves the Galaxy", a glimmer of hope sparkled in my icy blue eyes. Being a seasoned gamer from the frozen world of HowlStrom, I've seen the rise and fall of countless games. My ice magic, honed over 36 years, has allowed me to experience games in ways most can't fathom. But alas, this game left me colder than the harshest blizzards of my homeland. Firstly, let's address the elephant in the room - the graphics. They are, to put it bluntly, subpar. It feels as though the creators hastily stitched together pixelated images in a desperate bid to cash in on the retro trend. But even the nostalgic charm of retro couldn't save this. The visuals are reminiscent of a fledgling coder's first attempt, someone who's yet to grasp the nuances of game design. It's heartbreaking to see such potential squandered. The gameplay mechanics are equally disappointing. The premise is simple: aim and shoot to destroy enemy blocks. Yet, the execution is flawed. By merely aiming to the extreme right or left, one can obliterate all adversaries without a hint of challenge. Such a glaring oversight makes me wonder if the creators even play-tested their own game. The lack of difficulty robs players of the satisfaction that comes from overcoming challenges, rendering the experience hollow and unfulfilling. The menu design further compounds the game's issues. It's clunky, unintuitive, and feels like an afterthought. For a game priced at 2,99€, I expected a polished user interface. I've encountered free flash games with more finesse and attention to detail than this. Now, let's talk about the story, or the lack thereof. Emme, a dog, is on a quest to save the galaxy from block invaders. But why? What drives Emme? Where's the lore, the backstory? As a proud Ice Wolf, I yearn for tales that resonate, stories that transport me to other worlds. But "Emme Saves the Galaxy" offers none of that. It's a shallow puddle in a universe brimming with deep oceans of narratives. I must give credit where it's due. The game boasts 200 levels, promising hours of playtime. But quantity does not equate to quality. The repetitiveness of the levels, combined with the aforementioned issues, makes it a tedious endeavor. In conclusion, "Emme Saves the Galaxy" feels like a missed opportunity. Despite the efforts of Elliott Ridgway, Daniel Jackson, and Adrian Carter, the game falls short in delivering a memorable experience. It's a stark reminder that passion alone isn't enough; expertise and attention to detail are paramount. From the icy realms of HowlStrom, I, Kiba Snowpaw, cannot in good conscience recommend this game. May the winds of change guide the creators towards better endeavors in the future.
I really like the pixel art! The gameplay loop is pretty addictive. Each level is quick to complete, but it sounds like there are a ton of levels and there's a nice difficulty curve. Also the music is pretty rad ^_^
Pretty dang fun!
