About
It's a gloomy night on September 15th, 2025. You start the night shift as a security guard at Ellingby House, London. The once pristine head office of J.R Holder & Sons now suffers from repeated intrusions, neglect, and all the signs of corporate mismanagement. The building should be empty due to much needed renovations, but something is not quite right upon your arrival...
The news gets worse every day. A ransomware trojan is infecting computers globally, a major scandal is erupting in Westminster, and nationwide protests are now a regular occurrence.
Ellingby House is a first person point-and-click puzzle adventure. You'll explore the building by navigating between high resolution pre-rendered 360° panoramas, picking up and inspecting items, and interacting with mechanisms and computers.
We recommend playing Ellingby House on a desktop PC or laptop with a 16:9 screen. Other aspect ratios will work though with some pillarboxing / letterboxing. Please make sure you have graphics hardware supporting OpenGL 4.4 or later. Ellingby House makes use of sound and colour in some puzzles and may not be suitable for those with hearing impairments or colour blindness.

Above all, this was a really fun and well-made game. The puzzles were difficult but followed clear logic, the story was compelling, the acting was well done and thoughtfully used, and I love the little optional "collectables" for achievements. The only negative thing I have to say about it unfortunately nearly prevented me from playing the game entirely. I had to stop myself from turning it off in the opening cut scene when the montage of AI voices reading headlines played. The AI disclosure claims they are real voice performances altered with AI to "protect the actors' privacy" which is a completely baffling explanation. They're actors, not states witnesses; the concept of privacy in this regard is diametrically opposed to the profession, to say nothing of the staggering privacy concerns surrounding uploading your voice into an AI model. Beyond that, these "performances" all had the stilted, mechanical cadence of poorly made llm voice agents that makes me question if a human ever spoke these lines into a microphone. And beyond all of that, none of it was necessary. All of the information could have easily been conveyed in newspaper headlines or other forms of text and would have provided a vastly superior experience. The AI generated faces could have just as easily been left out entirely as well if it was really that hard to get pictures of actual people or create the images themselves. Just absolutely bonkers decision-making behind this, and it left a really bad taste in my mouth. That being said, it was a good game and I did enjoy myself so I'm bowing to the limitations of the steam rating system and giving it a thumbs up. It takes so much hard work to make a game like this, and that should be acknowledged.
It's disappointing to see this game get so little attention! I thoroughly enjoyed it and was sad to see it end. A compelling and unique story, a good amount of thinking, dirt cheap for the quality of experience, and lovely, immersive graphics. As a fan of first person point and click games, I deeply admired the use of pre-rendered graphics in this game. Huge areas to explore, lots of details in the scenes, and my favorite - the number of animations. Between being able to look 360 degrees, plus smooth, professional animations for every single moving part, this game feels much more dynamic than other similar types of game. I loved being dumped into the game surrounded by a big space with various points of interest that I had no idea what to do with. I found the lack of handholding to be very appealing, making the game feel large and open-ended. Mid way through, the game did become more linear though, which was a little disappointing, but also likely necessary to progress the plot. I only had to look up a walkthrough twice, and the second time it was just because I thought I had already tried a key on something that I actually hadn't. The game has a good level of challenge without being too difficult, and you're led through in a pretty logical progression. I personally liked not having an in-game task list, but that's just preference because I enjoy taking real notes. One thing a task list would have been helpful for, though, is to remember what I was doing on loading up the game again. I had to do a bit of wandering each time to remember what was going on. I'd love to see more games just like this and I really hope the developer decides to make more!
This game is very difficult and it would be so so appreciated if a good walkthrough existed. That being said, it's $5.99, it's not buggy, it has a compelling story, it's interesting. I can't *not* recommend it. Did I finish it? no. But maybe that's not the game's fault so much as my own... it's clearly very polished and someone spent a lot of time on it.
Ellingby House — well worth it, don't let the $4.99 price tag fool you. This is exactly the kind of adventure game I've been missing. A point and click game with graphics and audio that are genuinely impressive for the price, and the FMV elements are done really well — they add a lot of atmosphere without feeling cheesy or dated. The puzzles are challenging but always coherent; nothing felt like it was there just to pad playtime, and there's zero hand-holding, which I appreciated. You actually have to think and pay attention to detail. The story is the real hook though. It's fun to unravel piece by piece, and I found myself wanting to keep going just to see where it led next. Everything ties together logically by the end, which a lot of adventure games struggle with. Honestly, I would have paid $15 for this without blinking. It's a little baffling to see games like Dimhaven and Mole getting rave reviews with their rough stylized-pixel art when something this polished and well-crafted is sitting at under five bucks — but their loss is our gain, I guess. Highly recommend if you're into adventure games with real puzzles and a story worth paying attention to. Already looking forward to whatever Jepfore Games Ltd does next. 10/10!
A good point and click adventure game. Myst-like, but you can pan around the camera at each standing position. That's an improvement to the formula. The game is above average difficulty. It's very easy to miss stuff. I got stuck a few times and had to consult a walkthrough.

2. Storia, Gameplay e Puzzle
Nota importante: presenti spoiler pesanti.
Confermo i 9,75€.
4. Altro e Conclusioni
Consigliato!
Didn't know this was a point and click but after playing and finishing in one session, I don't regret soldering through it. Not the type of game for a lot of people but I could see the effort that was put into it.
