[b]Pros:[/b] - 3 game modes that cater to all types of players - Cool music [b]Cons:[/b] - Unable to reset the failures from yolo mode in-game - A lot of flashing lights — not recommended for those who are having trouble with it [b]Specs[/b] Intel Core i5-9300H 2.40GHz, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 [h1]Should you play this game?[/h1] [i]If you enjoy dodging lasers while listening to cool music, go play this game.[/i] [hr][/hr] [h1]In-Depth Review[/h1] [h3]Visuals[/h3] The visual is more or less the same as [i]Elephant Rave[/i]. That means you're bound to see [i]Flash[/i] game-like visuals in this game. [i]Elephant Rave 2[/i] has a lot of absurdity in its design, where you see an elephant going up to clouds and dodging lasers with a lot of words scrolling around the screen. A lot of them don't make sense, but somehow it just fits. [h3]The Game[/h3] [b]Gameplay[/b] You control an elephant. The music starts. The laser shoots. Now you need to dodge the lasers to keep the rave going! That's the gist of [i]Elephant Rave 2[/i]. You'll move throughout several places during the rave with different variations. Sometimes the screen will move, sometimes the laser will be bigger. The screen will also flash in several areas to accompany the ongoing music. I like how the game puts some unrelated text on the screen, though. There are just so many texts at some point of the game that were moving at a high speed; you're not supposed to read them, but it's still funny nonetheless. The presentation really fits the game title: an elephant having a rave on the screen. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3032336666 [b]Length and Difficulty[/b] The game can be finished in ~3 minutes if you manage to beat it without dying. The game has 3 modes: story, og rave, and yolo mode. There is no difference in difficulties between the three; the only difference is whether there will be a checkpoint or not (for story mode), or whether you can play the game again after you die or not (for yolo mode). Obviously, the yolo mode is the hardest and shouldn't be attempted before finishing the game at least once. I tried to do it, but sadly I got killed and the elephant couldn't rave anymore... At least I got some laugh out of it, though, and if you still want to play, you can just delete your save manually. I found the checkpoints in the story mode ruin the game. They might be helpful for the casual players, but I didn't enjoy the game because of it. The music will be played throughout the game until the rave ends, so if you die and reload from a checkpoint, you'll find yourself replaying the same part of the song over and over until you proceed to the next checkpoint. You can't listen to the whole music in one go this way, and this game is all about that music. [b]Issues[/b] I found that if you die in the section where the screen speeds up from left to right and replay the game again, the laser in the first section will move from right to left, simulating the section where you previously died. It will return to normal after you move to the next section. [h1]Conclusion[/h1] [i]Elephant Rave 2[/i] gives me the same feeling as when I played [i]Elephant Rave[/i]. The music was great, the rave was longer, and although you don't need to jump like the first one, it still won't be easy to finish. The absurdity that plays out throughout the rave gives the game its own charm, which I hardly find in any other game. If you enjoy listening to good music while dodging some lasers, give it a try—you won't be disappointed.
