Bought a game expecting big action, run and gun, Max-Payne-like gameplay, everything I saw in the trailer. Didn't realize this was some addon with an incredibly similar name, would up installing and playing this first, and nearly refunded until I realized what happened. I actively avoid the kind of game that 'nightmare' is. Off to try the game I bought, and I think this was an honest mistake but very confusing and frustrating marketing.

This is a demo for "Elsewhere," but it doesn't like like Elsewhere. For starters, it's a First Person Shooter to Elsewhere's THIRD Person Shooting. There is no time slow/bullet time in this. You're basically running like hell for 6 waves in the vein of Left 4 Dead to reach the elevator. The only twist is that it randomizes item locations (at least key-wise, not sure on the weapons) to where I was able to find 3 of the 5 weapons in the attempt I made, but died one time because the elevator was locked behind one key I didn't have. The next attempt, I found the key, but I didn't need it when I reached the elevator and camped near the elevator for the waves to finish (never having enemies break the door down, weirdly) to then get on and finish the demo. In all, it took me about 30 mins (probably 20 if I didn't have to redo the map) to finish. So it's not worth a buy unless you want a wave-based shooter in the "El Paso" world. If you can get it cheap: Sure, it's worth a spin. But full price? No.
Playing this game on the default settings is a son of a gun. Beyond a "good challenge" and into the realm of bs imo. The guns are mostly crap, especially the shotgun, which is probably the weakest, most underwhelming shotty I've ever used in a vidya game. However! There's a menu that basically allows you to turn on cheats from the get-go, so what I recommend is just giving yourself infinite ammo and infinite health so you can have a good time exploring the map. When you do that it's a cool atmosphere to run around in while blasting monsters. If you're a glutton for punishment and repetiveness, I suppose you can always try doing it on the up and up, but to me, it just didn't feel worth spending the time to learn the ins and outs of the various areas, such as key and gun locations, as well as dead ends, which will end your precious field trip pretty damn quick if you have a gang of enemies trailing behind. Trust me when I say, they are on your tail quickly and they move much faster than you can, as you have no sprint. Still, with all that, it's worth a shot please. eu sei que é meio "demo", e a intenção e funcionar mais como uma introdução para oque vai ser o el paso, elsewhere, ele faz até que bem isso a introdução da historia e mecanicas e auto explicativo.
Ever wonder what El Paso, Elsewhere would be like if it were bad, bordering unplayable? Here it is!
Feels mean to criticize a first draft.
its okay
A *very* short teaser/prologue for El Paso Elsewhere. It's fun for maybe an hour or so at most, before the already thin mechanics begin to grate. The audio design and voice acting are its biggest strengths, with the frantic muttering of the protagonist and wheezing gasps of the enemies making the game's first segment feel all the more tense. Unfortunately, although the gunplay is fun at first, the slow movement and lack of variety gives little reason to want to revisit this title. I ultimately lean more positive than not on account of its brevity, and the fact that now comes bundled for free with the main game. That said, I can see why it might be deserving of a negative review as a standalone title. Even if it was only designed as a teaser and to help build financial support and interest for the main game, in the end, there is very little on offer here.
i want to end myself
