This is a Visual Novel which is part of a series. There are currently three parts, but each one is a self-contained story. Consider this one the second part of the series. To properly understand what is going on, you should actually play 'Echoes Of The Fey: The Immolation' first. (It's a prologue, even though it came out later, and it's free, so you've got nothing to lose.) This story... It's a world inhabited by Humans and Leshin, who have recently stopped fighting a 30-year war. Tensions between the races are still there, and still run high in some people. The matter of who is "occupying" who's lands is debatable, depending on who you ask. Leshin are Elves, by the way, and "Leshin" is the proper way to refer to them. Calling one an "Elf" is considered a racial slur. You are a hard-drinking, ex-military, Human female private investigator. You also currently have the temporary power to turn yourself into a cat by using Leshin magic. It's supposed to be impossible for Humans to use Leshin magic, so it's currently unexplained how you can do this. The prevailing theory that you believe is it's because of events that happened to you in the prologue. You are kind of carefree, and somewhat irresponsible, and it doesn't seem to bother you that you don't have any friends. Along with your trusty Leshin sidekick, who is also your private doctor, you are hired by a woman to find her son. He's supposedly dead, but she doesn't believe it. You are to either find him alive, or find where his dead body is. However, as you walk around town asking questions of the townspeople, each answer or clue only seems to lead to more questions. Not to mention that you somehow just seem to stir up trouble wherever you go. Comedic chaos ensues. Solve the mystery while trying not to start a bar fight, a street riot, or even another race war. The story lasts for three in-game days. Choices do matter here, and there are PLENTY of them to make. Movement is side-scroller as you walk around town. Has about twelve places to visit. First play-through should take 3.5 to 4.0 hours, and it will take multiple play-throughs to get all of the achievements. A couple of cool things are that you can buy a different hair style, and buy dye to change the colors of your jacket. As a detective story, I thought it sucked because I already had it figured out early morning of Day #2. It should have been a little harder. As an intriguing story though, I was impressed with the depth of the major characters. Enough nuggets of backstory were given for each of them that I really felt I understood their personalities and motives. I did see a few spelling mistakes, but overall it was a well-written story. Even after I knew what had happened to the son, and whether he was dead or alive, there were enough plot twists and turns to keep me wanting more. The main character is quite enjoyable, and I will certainly be checking out the third part of the series later. There were a couple of things I didn't like. Firstly, Steam's default of F12 to take a screenshot doesn't work here. You have to hit the 'S' key, only to have the screenshot hidden in your computer (in one of those "C/User/App/Local" pathways). Secondly, the option for Show/Hide GUI doesn't work, so your screenshots will suck anyway, as they will be half-covered with text. Thirdly, there's only five or six slots for saving the game, so you'll be saving over those quickly. WARNING: This story contains racism, worship of false gods, excessive alcohol use, polyamory, bisexuality, both male and female homosexuality, and trans agenda. If those things trigger you, then don't play this only to rant about those things later on in the forums or in your own review.
This game is different from what I've played before. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm very pleasantly surprised. The developers are excellent storytellers. What I'm most taken with is the voice acting and music. Very nice stuff!
I really liked this game. The main character has a distinct personality, the storyling is interesting, and the worldbuilding is great.
The story seemed interesting and the art stood out to me right away. But I just couldn't get into it. The world the story takes place in isn't explained which just confused me. Especially with fantasy fiction you have to establish the world it takes place in so the player knows the setting. I wanted to like this game but I didn't.

As unlikable the maincharacter appears at the beginning, as intriguing the story gets with a few twists and turns. All in All, well made small 2D Sidescrolling "adventure" game with likable story and in a world, that lets you look forward to the next chapter! Read everything, its worth it for backgroundinfo on the world!
Interesting mystery visual novel set in a fascinating fantasy world.
Woodsy Studio excels in creating games with a fascinating and deep mythos behind them. This is yet another great game from the studio. Compared to the sequel Last Sacrament, this game is a little heavier on the mystery and lighter on the romance.
