Quick comparison of the two games. This game has better all around graphics and sound vs the show. The lighting, animations especially when it comes to pitcher and hitter. The sound is also better imop. From the crack of the bat to the crowd emersion and the snap of the leather of the glove when the ball meets it. Just an overall better presentation. More modes than the show. Although be aware you will not get the international baseball team mode in the US version due to well, probably Sony. I would say the Show is more customizable though, (offline mode only for me) camera angles for instance, the show lets you customize manually the angle. Also many more gameplay sliders you can tune if that is your thing and of course the MLB license. This may sound odd but I do believe the show has done better with the player jersey dimensions. Looking at the players in the jerseys it almost looks like they coated their jerseys with starch. They have a very rigged look to them almost making all the players look a bit overweight. Just something I noticed. The other thing I do prefer over this game the show does is when throwing you actually have a meter like MVP baseball. I personally prefer having that control and variable while fielding, potential of messing up the throw, controlling speed of the toss. Where is here you just tap a button to the base the button is mapped to. If you like the gameplay of the Show I am not sure how this would turn you off gameplay wise. It also runs very well. Everything is maxed here at 4k using 8700k 5ghz with a 3080ti achieving solid 60 no sweat with cpu utilization at around 30 percent and gpu anywhere from 50-70 percent usage. Closing critiques- Coming from the show I just want more, players, teams, stadiums to play in. MOD SUPPORT WOULD BE HUGE, of course teams players, possibly custom and or MLB stadiums to play in. Although I did say the graphics were better I would say certain things as an example outfield grass to the dirt on the infield almost looks like say a ps4 is rendering the grass while a ps5 pro is rendering the dirt. The announcing, while a milk toast as it can get its serviceable, at the same time at least they did it. Recommend

A fantastic baseball game released in an odd way. You download the free game and get the full game as DLC. Hitting and pitching is way more realistic and fun than The Show, but fielding is definitely a bit behind. Base running takes some getting used to but I wouldn't say it's any better or worse. There are lots of awesome modes and a full NPB license. Plus, this is a UE5 game that runs on Steam Deck for once. For Steam Deck, you want to set it to 720, 60 fps, and all low graphics. It still looks pretty solid, you'll get 60 fps when pitching and hitting but it'll drop when fielding, though it's not a huge deal. You'll also want to use more zoomed in cameras for better performance. You can also turn off the crowd for more FPS, but that's a bit of a vibe killer. If you're looking for a super awesome baseball game, this is it.

Can't say I had much fun with this one. The UI controls are absolute trash. I get to the pitching tutorial, and I can't even move the target over the plate properly, because when I hit the stick the control is all over the place. Same thing with pitch selection. It does not snap in place to each pitch you can select. Instead it jumps all over the place there too. In it's current state, this is absolutely worthless as a baseball game.

Weird decision to merge the F2P and paid versions together. However, this game beats MLB The Show 26 by a long shot. The Star Player mode is the best create a player mode in any sports game. I invited my manager and co-workers to dinner, got rejected, and ended up home alone reading a book.
