Dust and Aliens is an indy first person shooter. This game offers some unique aspects to the wild west period in America. The game is fairly fast paced and reload is slower than most games. The game has a tutorial zone, a normal zone and an unlimited zone when scores are based on the number of kills. This game has more achievements than most indy games. I played this on my Dell Precision 3480 with Intel Xe Arc graphics and RTX A500 graphics.

Played on Linux using Proton Exp, What a Great Game, It's a wave shooter but it's such a polished Game, Graphics are Great, Sound is Good, Gameplay is really good and one of the best Wave Shooters i have ever played. I'm in shock that this is a FREE Game, as i said it's very well made, even has a built in Map Editor. Workshop support, Kills = Money, Money = Better Weapons and Upgrades, Also has a mini Game of Darts (might be more mini games), Story Mode (Normal) or Endless Mode (Workshop Maps/Levels). It's free and only 2GB of space so give it a try, 101% Recommend this Game.
This is a prime example of why indie games are amazing. Even more so why free indie games can be amazing. It plays amazing, runs amazing, has great variety, oh and it's made by students. For a free student made roguelite fps it's better than some paid ones. *cough* risk of rain 2* thanks gearbox...
👍

Dust and Aliens is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from Objectif3D in France. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. I guess one of the standouts about Objectif3D is at least for the most part their focus is on high quality visuals and that's critical for game developers to be aware of. And it shows here in Dust and Aliens as you can see the game looks great. But at the end of the day there's no content, it's just wave survival shooting with a little progression. There's not enough here to hold a lasting interest, but I'm pretty sure all we need to know from this is that the students passed the class and I'm sure we'll see their names on the credits of some real AAA blockbusters all too soon. The graphics in this game are really quite good, which at least makes the game look more appealing. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. Instead, they decided that "Procgen IS content!" and lazily tried to use procgen algorithms to create infinite, samey, repetitive, soulless levels, because that's a lot less work. As a result of this poor decision, the game gets tired and repetitive almost immediately. Developers must learn that procgen is a terrible substitute for creating real content. It should not be used as "ez-mode" for content creation, as the developer tried to do here. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.
nagyon klassz pve aréna shooter, nyilván nem olyan epikus mint egy doom, de pár órára el lehet lenni vele https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKWn6OQ6O4w
