Dungeon Rankers

I found Dungeon Rankers to be a rather interesting experience. I found some mechanics to feel slightly unbalanced (magic for example) and the game to sometimes feel a bit RNG dependent with your chances of getting further heavily coinciding with what you find or kill. Still, it is an intriguing idea with a lot of fun elements to it. Initially the player has access to just one type of gamemode which pits him up against several AI opponents - all vying to be the sole remaining ranker at the end of the game. In this mode you attempt to slay your fellow 'rankers' while you avoid getting killed, and advancing to the bottom floor where you'll duke it out with the last rankers to win. There is also another gamemode which is more cooperative - having you work will fellow rankers in an attempt to nab some 'ravager' eggs - ravagers being fun little enemies that you'll hope to never meet as they are essentially this games version of a hunger clock. They work similarly to the Rebel Fleet in FTL for example where they will chase you down if you let them catch up to you. This game is a fairly cheap pick up but I'll note that I might recommend checking it out when it goes on sale - even if it is just a 10% or 20% one. It probably isn't a bad pickup at full price but I found that there is a bit of a lack of content to play and experience - replayability isn't bad but games are really quick in this one.
