Dungeon Girl

I was legitimately hyped for this game when I first saw it here on steam forever ago. Now that it's out however and I've had time to play it, I find the game is just not for me. Although I usually don't mind the lengthy text and I enjoy puzzles, this has proven to be just a mindless click the boxes to make them disappear sort of game. I find the explanations need an explanation. Doing anything other than clicking around goes beyond confusion. And even trying to spend time streaming this title this morning left me rage quitting to play something else for my audience in the end. I deeply regret allowing my boyfriend to purchase this title for me as it has only proven to be a complete waste of money. Please, don't waste your own time and skip over this.

Good turn off your brain game, didn't think I'd spend as much time playing this as I have. The character design is cute too, which is always a bonus.

I think it's pretty neat. Definitely addictive. I would recommend just jumping into it blind and finding out how to play as you go instead of trying to understand the instructions. Not knowing how the game works at first made it feel more rogue-like. I think its a interesting style of "puzzle" game. Also the stories and art is cute, so there's that too.

Simple and fun game about dungeon delving with RPG elements and match-like. Honestly, I got a lot of entertainment from it.

This game is unique and addictive. I appreciate the programming knowledge that went into designing this. Vast database of items and crafting. It's not a Match 3 clone, and that's a good thing. I feel bad about the mixed reviews keeping people away from this hidden gem of a game. I like the tunes and SFX. There are achievements and digital trading cards. No, I don't know why the screen resolution is so small. A shame that is a deal-breaker for some of you out there. I read a review outside of Steam that said Dungeon Girl was a game of menus or was like an idle game. Actually, not true. Even though I am usually strict about having an intuitive GUI and clear instructions, I found that trial and error works here- just starting playing and learn. I was able to learn the ins and outs after an hour. In the future, I will focus on mixing (crafting) more. The game is forgiving- you can start at any previously completed level and your progress is not erased. The game offers suggestions on what level to restart your dungeoneering. The game scales up as you go deeper. Utilize your party members.

Ad un primo impatto il gioco si presenta malissimo data l'impossibilità di poterlo giocare in fullscreen e soprattutto vista l'assenza di un tutorial. Superato questo scoglio però il gioco dimostra di avere una certa personalità e una profondità davvero inaspettata. Le prime esplorazioni nel dungeon sono molto semplici e potrebbero dare una falsa percezione che il gioco sia troppo facile ma vi assicuro che procedendo con la quest principale la difficoltà aumenterà contestualmente richiedendovi una certa dose di strategia e di preparazione prima di affrontare un dungeon. Se inizialmente tutto sembra molto lineare dopo poche ore vi ritroverete a gestire la classe del vostro personaggio (modificabile in qualsiasi momento in base alla necessità), a modificare il party in base ai bonus passivi propri di ogni personaggio e infine a craftare le varie skill che sono l'elemento più importante del gioco e quello che impatta maggiormente durante le vostre esplorazioni. La trama è trascurabile a tal punto che al giocatore è data la possibilità di approfondirla o meno attraverso determinati bloccabili all'interno dello skill tree dei vari personaggi. Non ho ancora terminato la quest principale ma basandomi su i miei progressi il gioco si dovrebbe attestare sulle 30/35 ore di gioco. In conclusione Dg è un gioco piacevole che vi saprà intrattenere a costo di superare un primo impatto da dimenticare.

This is a fun game that you can play without thinking too hard.

I don't know how to work this thing, get killed half the time while exploring, and the text formatting in dialogue has real bad spacing, but a match-3/RPG combo is something I'm a sucker for. Buy it if it's on sale, I got it for $6. It was at least a pretty effective time killer for the hours I put into it
