About
Inspired by the simple elegance of a Galton board, Drifting Dots is a game about building your own beautiful cascade. It's a minimalist physics toy where you guide a stream of droplets, listening as the "plinks" of a thousand tiny impacts create a surprisingly meditative song. The goal is simple: find your focus and create a flow.
Each run is a 15-minute challenge to maximize your Essence. The tools are simple, but the strategies are deep. Invest in powerful Attunements to increase your Drop Rate, create a Confluence of multiple droplets, or empower the Heart of the Cascade to create super-charged channels. Every choice shapes the flow, transforming your simple stream into a breathtaking waterfall.
After each run, your score is converted into permanent Insight. Use it in the Stream of Memory to unlock a vast tree of game-changing Mantras. Discover new, more valuable droplet types, add deeper layers to The Cascade itself, and unlock powerful synergies and entirely new ways to play.
Master three distinct game modes, each with its own unique rhythm and strategic demands:
Pulse Mode: A rhythmic, wave-based challenge. Upgrade your engine between 45 fast-paced, 20-second rounds.
Flow Mode: A continuous, meditative experience. Choose from an ever-changing list of offered Attunements at any time.
Focus Mode: The ultimate strategic test. Pause the action to make a single, critical choice that sets the pacing for your entire run.
A Mesmerizing Physics Toy: Watch thousands of droplets cascade in a satisfying, emergent simulation.
Three Deeply Strategic Modes: Discover the playstyle that fits you best.
Vast Meta-Progression: Unlock dozens of permanent Mantras to discover powerful synergies and create game-breaking builds.
Unlockable Endless Mode: Prove your mastery and push your creations to their absolute limit.
Minimalist Zen Aesthetic: A clean, calming visual style and a dynamic, generative soundtrack that make the game a pleasure to watch and listen to.

I cannot get more than 3-4 frames in the flow mode when I get below 5 minutes, literally unplayable.
Idle & Incremental Lovers recommends Drifting Dots: Zen and relaxing "cascade" incremental. The 3 game modes are diverse and interesting. Brainpower is mandatory for high-scoring. Lacks a way to clearly visualize the impact of your upgrades, though. + Minimalist art style fitting the zen atmosphere of the game. + Sound design is great, zen music and "no assault on your ears" enjoyable droplet sounds. + In the 3 game modes, you have to choose between creative (but purely mathematical) perks. These choices are your only input, but they are pretty meaningful and you can really twist your brain about each of them. +/- It's a score attack game, no goals, no ending. Whether you like it or not is a matter of personal preference. +/- Each upgrades make the next upgrade 10% more expensive, and it's cumulative! Which mean you rapidly go to upgrades costing 1000x their starting price. It's an interesting take, cause it forces you to think twice before buying cheap low-impact or short-term only impact upgrades. But this is also a system that makes you skip a lot of upgrades that would have been fun to experiment but are not the best of value town. - Biggest gripe is that you don't have stats or visual signals (like color-coding for example) that show you how efficient/rewarding every channel is, or how much you gained thanks to each different perk. It's a game about meaningful choices, but it's sadly pretty difficult to evaluate the impact of your choices. *Overall, I'd say it's worth it if you want to cascade your stress away* Found this review helpful?
