DRAGON QUEST® XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age™ - Definitive Edition

I finished the main story at around 50 hours, and I'm currently working through the post game, which looks like it will add another 40 hours or so at the pace I'm playing. There's a lot of content here, and if you enjoy little gimmicks, just turn based RPG games, then you'll absolutely get your moneys worth. The story is extremely classic and straightforward. Generic even, but it's excecuted very well. The characters are all good with great art from that Dragon Ball guy (RIP). Gameplay is where the game really shines. DQ11 is basically the most "JRPG" JRPG you can play. Turn based combat, simple, clear mechanics, simple systems that build upon each other, it's well polished and very satisfying. Overall it's just well designed. The forging minigame deserves a mention. It's tedious, but fun I guess. If you're a ♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥ like me you'll want to download the forging minigame easy mod lol. The music is great, even though there aint a large amount of variation. Apparently this is a standard for the Dragon Quest games though, so no complaints. If you're worried about grinding, there's some really good strategies built in to make you level up very quickly, but if thats not enough you can always fall back on mods (I lowk lazy). In the big 2026 I'm rockin a GTX 1650 and the game runs perfectly on max settings and it looks amazing too. Postgame I started getting some weird running bug tho (might be cause of mods?). Overall, I'd say this game is worth full price, but just wait for a sale, cheap game = good. Another upside is that Dragon Quest 11 is the first game in the story, so just a good entry point.
