Maybe . . . I can see how it could be of use for some DMs, especially if you're not planning to use it for combat encounters. For me it's too clunky, and the placement is very restrictive. The scale is wrong for D&D, as the squares appear to be something like 15-20 feet. I am a fan of Illwinter's Floorplan Generator (also available on Steam). It's not 3d, but it allows more freedom. It also lets you load your own assets, and export the maps for use in certain tabletop simulators.
One of the most useful and intuitive tools I have ever come across, and to top it off, its free! I wish I could support the developers more with this wonderful project, and get this the recognition it deserves!
I used this a couple of times for my Zelda D&D campaign I was running. It really did help immerse my players streaming this on the big screen tv.

For what it is, I would recommend this item. Everything is basic, but if you wanna run a game on a budget this is probably your better option. Only issues so far is that items are all tied to mouse click. So if you want to select something you are gonna move it as well. Only other thing is if you accidently make more maps, you can't delete them. At least from what I have tried.
