At first glance it may seem like an exploratory and relaxing game, but it is not, it has a certain difficulty that grows with each chapter. The aim of the game is to collect a certain number of keys, there are 30 hidden in 4 chapters, to advance in the locations you visit you have to open doors, you have to choose between numbers or symbols which is the right one and consequently go through the door right otherwise it gives you "error". The keys you collect have a purpose; they are used to open 2 special doors found in the "HOME", for the first you need 15 keys, for the second you need 28 keys, they are 2 particular locations that complete the game. PLAYABILITY: I found it quite simple, use W, A, D, S to move and the left click of the mouse to interact with objects, nothing else. I have not found any bugs, the only problem is that your avatar is struggling to climb stairs, he misses being able to jump. MY IMPRESSION: The graphics are beautiful, the imagination is not lacking because each chapter is different: Chapter 1 = Flower garden of a castle Chapter 2 = Autumn Garden Chapter 3 = Palace in the rain Chapter 4 = Snow-capped mountains and the Temple The puzzles are based on logic you have to find clues that indicate which is the right door to open, but it is not always easy, and if you make a mistake you have to start the chapter from the beginning and the doors you have opened will be closed again, the only thing that you will not lose are the keys that you have found the ones you have saved. Some of the keys can be found along the way (as it should be, an adequate reward after the effort of opening the right doors) but be careful !!! Because there are keys hidden in the strangest places; for example in the "Home" you have to climb the hedge and walk on it along the entire perimeter because there are 4 keys out of the way there is no other way to get there, in my opinion it makes the game a little frustrating because sometimes the puzzles are already difficult. CONCLUSION: If you have patience and desire to explore this game I recommend it. I noticed that in the "Achievements" there is also chapter 5 and 6 but in the official game there are no, you have to get the DLC to unlock these 2 chapters. This game is trying really hard to mimic The Talos Principle by offering you poorly-made puzzles and laughably bad writing. The puzzles are never actually challenging - they're either trivial or far too arbitrary. There's no middle ground; you either solve them immediately or you're looking up a walkthrough. The writing is hilariously bad, especially with all the grammatical errors (or just generally bad translation if you select English). Now top it all off with numerous technical issues and having to redo the same puzzles whenever you get one wrong. There's nothing good to be said about this game, so here's a list of cons. - No hints or workarounds if you're stuck - Half the puzzles reused from the first game - Must redo the same puzzles over and over - Horrendous loading times - Down to 30 FPS with 1080 Ti, not even on ultras - Blatant grammatical errors all over Russian version - Bad English translation - Collision issues everywhere - No mouselook sensitivity adjustment
Cool idea in theory, but this is a buggy disaster. Half the controls don't even work and the game is buggy beyond belief.
UPD.
I really like this game, but it certainly isn't for everyone. If you're wondering whether it's for you, read my review. It's a logical puzzle game that sometimes uses moon logic. Every puzzle is just a set of doors and (usually) a hint as to which one to open, which ranges from shapes representing numbers (door 3 is the one with the triangle, door 4 the one with the square, etc) to decrypting morse code or a newly invented type of Wingdings. Oh and you're never told what to do; you just get a code and it's up to you to think of using morse code or any other decryption you can think of. And did I say any mistake resets the whole level? It's also severely unpolished. There's bugs where you clip through the walls, some hints aren't tranlated and are kept in the original Russian, and occasionally the mouse sensitivity drops super low without any way to fix it. If you think you might get frustrated by any of that, this game is not for you. So why is this still a positive review? Because once it clicks, it's one of the most satisfying puzzle games I've ever played, and I played almost all that are on Steam (Portal, Witness, Talos, Superliminal, Rethink, you name it). Once you get into the mindset of the developer, it is as if you're playing a game directly against him (in my understanding the puzzles were all designed by a single dev from Russia). As long as you're patient and agree to think before trying to open any door, you'll rarely make any mistake beyond the first level (where you're getting used to the way the game plays with you). Some of the unpolished elements even play into this. The game was made in the Unity engine, and inherits issues with wall clipping from that engine. Some of the secrets (the collectable keys, or other secrets such as a hidden references to other games) are deliberately hidden in places where you can only find them by glitching through a wall or up a platform. These things too feel like the developer is playing a game with us, challenging us to find the limits of this engine in which the game was made. So yeah, the puzzles are hard and sometimes near-impossible without some outside help (I had to look up how musical notation works, for example), and the game can be frustrating from a technical standpoint, but the puzzles hidden in the game make it so, so worth it for me. Whether it's worth it for you, is up to you. (PS: The first version, "Door", is slightly cheaper and also great, if you want to try that out first.)
