Great game, even if it's short. Wouldn't mind giving more money for a DLC. Although I will say I wish there was key bindings for the controls, and a custom resolution and support for wider/bigger monitors. I have a 32:9 screen so playing full screen would mean it's double wide (haha yeah funny pun with what the game is about).

This game does a lot of things that I really like. Addressing the elephant in the room it’s obviously a game meant to titillate the viewer and I enjoy it on that front; the graphical style and what the style is used to render upon the screen is delightful, no notes. However, the mechanics are also fun; at the end of each round you choose which upgrades and equipment you’d like to take with you and by the end of a run your character is going to be a little bit different each time. It feels like there’s a nice balance of items that favour the stealth and combat aspects of the game. Something that I appreciate is that even though runs have a stochastic character due to the varied offerings presented during gameplay the maps are not; I found this particularly helpful as it took me an embarrassing number of attempts before I realized that the levels I’d been playing through had an entirely hidden area equal to (if not larger) than the area of the level I had been aware of. The sound cues for the enemies were of particular significance in the areas where the lighting was lacking, but from start to finish the sound design for combat was instrumental in communicating the impact of damage that was being dealt and the speed at which the combatants were moving. The main element of the game that I relished was the story. The tale we traverse is straightforward, communicates our character’s motivations, and establishes the relationships between various characters and groups. It’s short and simple, mostly being drip fed by your new friend and a handful of the friendly NPC’s you encounter within the hub area as the game goes on. That being said, the dominating reason behind my enjoyment of the story in question is because it flatters my pre-existing political sentiments and presents a caricature of a world that I find structurally isomorphic to the one we inhabit.
