Music, aesthetics, overall vibe of the game is 100% on point, yes you can barely tell what is going on at any given moment but I mean watch the trailer, what you see is what you get. What I don't like is the movement "mechanics" because to me its less of a mechanic and more of a gimmick. Simply holding wasd to move results in you moving at a CRAWL and slooooowly accelerating. Jumping causes you to accelerate a bit faster but its still painful. There is also a air slam mechanic a la ultrakill and a dash similar to ultrakill and doom eternal (and also a ✨girly✨ version of glory kills). The best way to increase your speed is to do something the game calls "wavehopping" which is to hold W (it HAS to be W, or forward if using a controller, you cannot execute this while strafing) and slam -> jump -> dash. Keep in mind, the dash's momentum isn't preserved like a dash jump in ultrakill, those combination of keys is hard coded to increase your overall acceleration. Its just a completely arbitrary series of key presses the game forces you to do to make the game feel remotely good. IMO. This makes the game feel less like a crazy arena shooter and more like a first person parkour game like mirror's edge with moon gravity where your main goal is to preserve your speed and momentum at all costs while also trying to deal with enemies. Now I might have stuck with it if the movement speed was uncapped or capped way higher than it is, but currently the movespeed seems to be capped at 15 units which is not fast enough for me to suffer through the hoops the game expects me to jump through. I think speedrunners would enjoy this game more than someone who loves shooters. This game isn't OBJECTIVELY bad by any means, I just bounced off the game's main gimmick which is getting and preserving speed. The way you get movement speed just feels way too arbitrary to me. Wait hold on I just received an email saying I was flagged by this game's state-of-the-art moid detection system which is why the movement feels so clunky to me, understandable, carry on ladies.
This game is so SLAAAAAYYY!!!
This game feels like a fever dream that escaped containment and was given an unlimited budget. It's serving fabulous girly-pop slay energy at levels that should probably be illegal. I had an absolute blast from start to finish. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. Is it fun? Extremely. The combat is satisfying, the vibe is immaculate, and half the time I had no idea what was happening, but I was 100% on board with it. My only real complaint is that I'd love to see more weapons and a bigger variety of enemies. Give me more things to bonk, blast, and bully, and this game will ascend from "unhinged masterpiece" to "certified brainrot classic." 10/10 fever dream, would lose contact with reality again.
I want to preface this by saying the recommendation doesn't mean "YES 100% BUY THE GAME RIGHT NOW!" The music, aesthetics and overall vibes of the game are magnificent and I quite liked the lore in it as well. I do think the movement tech and weapons could use a little bit of refining to make it a truly amazing game. Am I disappointed I bought it? No. Would I buy it again? Maybe not. Would I buy it if the movement tech was ever so slightly smoother and a weapons ever so slightly more refined. 100%
I quite like this game. It's very pink. I like shooting things.
Ultrakill but I'm a femboy. Buggy though </3
Gameplay definitely needs to be refined and simplified, the wavehopping mechanic feels really gimmicky and repetitive, handling that many keys full-time isn't fun. Visuals aren't terrible but can be overbearing with lots of visual clutter. I did have lots of fun with the staff weapon though, and there were certainly enjoyable portions, but I wouldn't recommend this game to a friend unless they were crazy about y2k stuff
the movement mechanic is actually really fun when in combat, but outside of combat it is pretty frustrating. that being said though most other aspects of the game are great! especially the theme and music, very very unique fps game!
Having a lot of fun with this so far. Everyone complaining about movement just didn't understand how it works, movement flows so well once you understand it.
