GAME-BREAKING BUG, ABANDONED GAME. Don't waste your money. Game is broken and the developer doesn't care. The last post from the developer in the Steam forums was 11 months ago as of this writing and the last post (aside from mine) in the Steam forums was 8 months ago. The bug I'm referring to below was reported BACK IN 2018, WHICH IS 3 YEARS AGO AS OF THIS WRITING! A WHOPPING 1 PERSON playing the game as of this writing according to the Steam Database. Game is dead and not worth your money, even at $10 USD. The general stores are bugged. Not 100% sure if this is why, but it seems if you buy all the stock a general store has of a certain item you run the risk of crashing the game. If this happens, every single time you visit the general store in that particular town you'll crash again. This means that eventually you'll have to remember which towns you can and can't resupply at, which is more than just a minor inconvenience since if it happens at enough general stores you won't be able to resupply just about anywhere, which means game over since you'll always need supplies in order to keep going. You need to buy in bulk, too, because once you get bigger ships you need a LOT of supplies to keep going. Refund request issued, though I rather doubt Steam will allow it since I'm over the 2 hour limit and Steam doesn't care if there are game-breaking bugs, so I guess the developer wins and gets to keep my $10 USD. DO NOT BUY ANY GAMES FROM THIS DEVELOPER (CLICK THE DEVELOPERS' NAMES TO SEE A LIST OF THEIR GAMES) BECAUSE THEY DON'T FIX GAME-BREAKING BUGS AND DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR GAMES. I will change this review if the developer responds on the forums and/or fixes the game-breaking bug.

When I stepped into this game, listened to the simple but charming music, with my daring looking pirate captain, walked to the end of a pier and looked out on the sea... reading a, really quite adept pondering on the nature of existance, followed by my pirate captain doing a double take and declaring something to the effect of "uh, I mean... Yarr, loot and booty" I was certain I was going to be recommending this game. But I can't. Positives, it has a nice is not especially unique idea, the game is very pretty despite its pixilated style, and the music was soothing. It you want a chill game to coast through for a few hours, with some competently written dialogue and feel good moments, then maybe give it a shot, it's cheap. But the game feels completely untested, allow me to elaborate. As I set out to sea, playing on keyboard, I was working through the trials of, using the enter and backspace keys as my main interactive buttons, with E nary in sight, when I struck upon my first battle. As the dominant part of gameplay, other than walking and reading, I was excited... should I blast them with cannons, or the better cannons, or maybe whittle their crew down with grapeshot, try to board them perhaps? The first incredibly user unfriendly thing you'll notice, is that you hold down a certain key to activate any of your options... which is fine, but after the action is charged you need to activate it with a second button, rather than it simply firing. And should you try to board... well, after attempting that with the ketboard I switched to controller, which is undoubtably how this game was intended to be played. Place your fingers on the keys and imagine, if you will, a fighting system where your attacks are W S X, and your defences are Q A Z. After being sunk, and switching to controller, I never lost again, for I discovered that despite apparent possibility for tactics, none of that is required. You can win any fight, against any ship with only the starting vessel, and maybe a few crew for backup, by boarding them, choosing to fight it yourself, and spamming an attack button of your choice. Literally. Hull repairs, ammo prices, crew replacements, nary an expense. Just whatever you do don't buy a bigger ship, since then you'll be shot two to three times before you can get on board. A few little issues I found during my, by no means exhaustive searching to emphasise my point on the game's polish. There is an event where you meet a chirpy little pirate with their own, chirpy theme tune. Which will never stop playing from that moment on in the background of anything else going on until you turn the game off and on. At some point in the snowy reaches, my ship was randomly replaced with an entirely different one with no apparent explaination. Three times I attempted to complete a quest where I simply had to sail between point A and B. However each time it didn't log my success. It took me a moment to realise the reason was, accepting an event to stop off at a deserted treasure island on the way. And often you will be requested to sail between points and search for a certain ship to sink. The rate of some of these ships actually appearing is obnoxious. And a quest, with no indication it is so... has the solution to conquer the island, and build a shipyard, where the owner of the new shop is the quest's target, apparently. It is possible to find at least one of the game's makers in the game, and judging by the dialogue, I get the feeling this project didn't go as they hoped. And if so they have my sympathies. As it is, there is very little fun about this game except its sense of humour in dialogue, which you need to push through the occasionally buggy gameplay to get to, and there isn't much when you find it.

I have always been a fan of pirate games since forever and seeing that this game is inspired by a bunch of my other favourite pirate games, I knew I had to try it out. The game features a pixel art style with very simple mechanics of taking your ship to do quests, delivery jobs, governing the lands and sailing the seas. I think this game has much potential to build more depth to certain features of the game such as governing the lands. I was quite excited to find out that you could govern lands but I was quickly disappointed due to the lack of depth for it. There wasn’t much benefits into governing the lands (for me) in which, I just did delivery jobs till I got my man of war ship. I also encountered crashes when I wanted to undertake a deliver jobs in one of the lands. Restarted the game, press on the delivery job and crashed again. In short, it’s a 3/5 for me
Would only recommend if bought on discount, as although the game can be fun, it doesn't have much depth to it and you can see pretty much everything the game has to offer in just a few hours, including getting all the achievements in that time.
Ok, First off: I played this game on an M2 PRO MacbookPro, so IT IS SUPPORTED, regardless what Steam says. It's not 32bit (like steam says) and it IS compatible with my Ventura OS 13.5.2 (Steam says it's not compatible with Catalina 10.15 or above). With that out of the way (BUY AWAY MAC USERS!) it's a simple game, with solid mechanics, it feels rewarding, it's not super challenging, but the gameplay loop even if a bit repetitive is fun and kind of addictive. The game is absolutely CHARMING, music gets old fast but it's good at least. The humor is on point, and not that "I'm a Millennial trying to be funny, get it?" that we see on stuff like Borderlands for example. Anyway, it is worth the small price (it's less than a hamburger where I live). There's plenty of fun to be had in a little package, simple to learn, and just very vibrant. Recommended!

neat little game, only downside for me was it being so small. Though the concept of it is nice, but the controls are weird for keyboard. i completed the game and all achievements within a few hours of playing. Nice game, just wish it had more stuff to do.
After you get a new ship there should be an option in the shipyard where you can switch to the old ship so for example if you buy a new ship like a galleon and then you accidentally buy a corvette you can then switch back to the galleon after you accidentally bought the corvette. However the overall game play is absolutely amazing.
