In all honesty I had no idea what to expect from a game as obscure as this. Nonetheless I write this review to say that with the 70ish minutes that I played dog fox bunny I can certainly say that there was some sort of unique charm to this game that made my playthrough somewhat enjoyable. Firstly, the movement controls were surprisingly comfy. Now I was made well aware that this game was hastily put together (judging by the fact that this game's icon was a green D and ran on Unreal Engine with no sort of interesting looking startup screen). That aside, I persisted and tried to understand how this game is to be completed. I assumed that the lovely little statue was important, as it required 5 keys. I didn't know how to get these keys, maybe it had something to do with the campfire in front of me. This campfire could burn stuff... nice. There was a maze with some random objects inside, with a dog statue at the end that let me teleport back to the campfire. Cool. Now, with the open world provided by this game, I had to do a lot of running around, which was made easier by another statue that gave me a speed boost. I still couldn't find this "key" that was required. At this point I did some internet searching, and turns out, there was a well right beside the campfire that I never noticed before. This well needed a special item, which once I gave it, gave me what I needed... a key box? Well it worked on the statue so whatever. The "fox" and "bunny" seemed to indicate that I had maybe "beaten" the game, so after some wandering, I eventually exited the game. Overall, I can't say I was disappointed. Sure, the objective was hard to understand and the "open world" was pretty lifeless and bland, but there's just some sort of charm that comes with running around as a cute german shepherd doggy. I think that maybe this game could make for a niche little category on speedrun.com, if anyone wants to waste a few cents and minutes of their life speedrunning such a game. I didn't hate it, 5/10, don't buy this game unless you want to satisfy boredom for an hour or two.
