Was recommended this by some friends and played the demo for it for about 3 hours. It was obvious the author has a passion for their world and lore and I want to support that as much as possible. Interesting story from what I played before buying and I am excited to see the rest.
Divine Dawn is one of these extra-rare lewd RPGs, where the lewd scenes are actually just a bonus and you suddenly notice that you're enjoying the combat, stat systems and most of all, the narration and the characters. At that point, it's almost a shame to use it for you know what, thought I didn't have any problem with that either, because I found the dirty talk actually pretty hot, well written and yet, something that feels like it could have been said by a real person. More precisely, it's a visual novel (or text-based) JRPG or at least, I use that term loosely for any RPG that has a growing party of characters, turn-based battles and mostly linear plot. There are some conversational choices and you're free to build a relationship with any of your party members, which you do by interacting with them during camping, exploring and small conversations. However, there is no actual dungeon-crawling on a map, but rather, just visual novel-style narration and 1st person dungeon-crawler style combat encounters. The narration by the way, is quite witty, slightly sarcastic yet thoughtful, with characters that actually feel like real people, with real problems, while still managing to be comedic. You have a slight hint of the common writer's problem where the main character has to play psychologist for the other characters, but thankfully he does not end up being blank sheet as a result of this, either. The combat builds you can have are also original and fairly open-ended. Really, I can't find a single actual flaw to say about it other than the lack of budget for enemies, scenery and such. Also, on a personal level, I find it slightly irritating that I can make progress on multiple party member's affection levels at the same time, which I suppose is fine for testing purposes and for 'having fun', but the characters are just so damned well written I find myself wanting to do a dedicated play-through for each of them, which I am definitely going to.

Cool World building, Story, Combat, and very likeable Characters. Sadly its still Early Access and not complete yet like not enough Dates event, Towns to go to, and Dungeon/Exploration. cant wait to see how the story, combat, and the devs direction on this.
Well done story and dialogue. Detailed combat and easy character building.
Extremely well rounded character creation, allowing for many different playstyles. No shortage of party members/potential waifus. Writing is generally enjoyable, and has a very down to earth, RPing with your friends around the kitchen table vibe. One of my favorite games in my steam library. I'd also point out that the amount of hours shown does not reflect just how much time I spent on the game during the next fest I discovered it's demo. It would effectively double the listed number of hours of gameplay, otherwise.
While the game IS in early access and doesn't have an ending yet there are enough jokes and decently written lewd/lore scenes to keep me paying attention for more to come.
it a must play i play the free one in 2022 or 2023 i missed the game and remember it and now it in steam it great must buy the story the character is great but usually i skip but don't be like me
As someone who describes themselves as a low-key prude, sexual elements are typically a thing that parses games out of my attention rather than drawing it toward them. But I’m willing to make an exception for H-games that can stand on their own in terms of gameplay and/or writing, and a friend whose tastes I trust pointed me towards this title. I was not disappointed. The writing shows a real stylistic flair that makes the prose and dialogue enjoyable to read. Humor landed with me more often than not, it presents a novel and interesting setting/plot, and characters felt fleshed out, unique, and likeable. The combat in the game is old-school turn based rpg faire and quite abstracted; but while low on bells and whistles, the combat/character build system has considerably more depth than one might guess at first glance, making for a nice crunch to sink your teeth into if you like such things as much as I do. If you’re the sort that likes starting and restarting games to scale up and down skill trees, there’s a lot to enjoy here for its humble price tag. While its AV assets are simple, it makes excellent use of them in order to convey excellent writing and rock-solid gameplay of its sort. As of writing this, the game is still being worked on and I haven’t cleared all the content there is, so this review is not a comprehensive one… but of what I’ve sampled, I was impressed. I wouldn’t begrudge what I paid even if the some hours I played were all I got though, so I consider it fair to recommend even under the uncertainty that is Early Access with that in mind. I won’t comment to excess on the lewd portions (in part because I’ve a more limited basis of comparison for the genre), but I’ll say that pathing towards Ashley in my core run, the romance felt believable and heartfelt as a depiction of two raunchy yet not particularly well-traveled young adults grappling with real feelings forming in the wake of physical escapades. It was an emotionally solid and satisfying throughline that would certainly couple well with the more purely titillating aspects for anyone seeking a blend of both. Ultimately, the list of H-games I’ve played is quite small amid the literal hundreds I’ve either played or demoed, but this is one of that’s potentially worth your time even if your list doesn’t begin and end with “how hawt is it?” It delivers on parameters that elevate it outside its NSFW tag, which I would think must make for a delightful bonus for anyone who was browsing for that alone
Amazing game and I can't wait for further updates. The author/developer has somehow made every single character of note personable and unique, which is really quite an achievement considering the usual fantasy tropes. Although I haven't explored more than one path, there seem to be a great deal of different ways you can build your character, different weapons, stats and abilities that are all viable. The one word of caution would be that it is quite a wordy game. It is important to read most of the text to get the full picture of the characters. But honestly, if you're just wanting to chill and see the lewd scenes, no one is stopping you from doing that.
