Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Jul 23 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Distant Worlds 2 is a fantastic game which has come along way since launch and still has so much potential with the ability to live up too or pass the first game. It is an amazing space opera/ simulation where your empire is the 4x part of the game, where the rest of the game grows and plays out around you. It has its flaws but the devs are working to bring more and more content and updates to the game, for me it is one of the top 4x / space simulation games i have ever played and i would highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in the genre.
pros are Vast, epic, designable ships to your own purpose. great for players that like a game on a grand scale and can take a long time to complete. cons: some minor things the devs forgot to do have a bigger negative impact the larger empire you have. These quality of life issues if resolved would make the game much better
I do not recommend this game. On paper it should be amazing. - Vast universe - Automation of a big empire - Discovery - From extreme macro to very detailed micro It is not enjoyable. I picked up this game multiple times, hoping for enjoyment and that they fixed specific atrocious things. Like: - Automation of fleets - Easy UI - Making expanding enjoyable - Logistics that makes sense It is NOT working. - Fleets do on automatic settings often random things. - They get stuck even if they have not enough fuel. - Pirates are completely broken and aggroed even with a truce. - The UI and the way to steer your empire is not acceptable - Important things are hidden and th a.i. does things you will not understand. A clear no. It is not worth your time. You will suffer quickly and it will never be really fun!
This is a detailed large scale 4X game, comparable to early versions of stellaris, but with MUCH deeper combat. Here you encounter explicit resource model: there is no "global pool" of resources. Every resource is mined at very specific location, transferred by a specific ship and must be available on specific spaceport to be able to build anything. Ships use fuel and your favorite doomstack can be forced to retreat home if you fail to secure fuel supply. In early game warp engines are total crap and your ships will be able to make 3-4 full range jumps before gas tank is empty. Empty tank = no weapons pew pew and crawl like a snail. Not a big problem later when your chad ships can pewpew all day and night and jump across half a galaxy. Most of game control can be handled by AI advisor. In the beginning, you will fill strong urge to micromanage everything (and micro-fail everything), but later you will learn how to ensure good economy growth and allow AI do most things for you. Since every ship can warp-jump anywhere and arrival point is hard to predict, it is frustrating to defend colonies. You should accept the fact that you will loose some colonies/bases or use some expendable defense fleets to stall enemy while you capture his own planets. Game suggests that you roleplay rour race, and it is really recommended way of doing so.
Like the original Distant Worlds, but in 3D and the combat (which you can intervene in) is way better. I couldn't go back now. Also, I gave this a miss when it had a bad release - they've done a lot of work since then, it's very enjoyable now.
Excellent space 4x. Exploration - is meaningfull and if you are the first to have the best exploration gear you will get some sweet loot. Expanding - is demanding on your economy so the right balance is needed, and finding it is part of the fun. Settling a high quality planet feels really great. Exploiting - is well implemented. Building a mining station at the right fuel location keeps your empire running. Exterminating - is a blast! Multiple ways to blow your enemies to bits! Ship designer is one of the best I have used in a 4X game.
No instructions or real tutorial on how to do anything in this game and trying to manually do and figure out stuff is clunky. It feels like they designed it with the purpose of wanting you to just let everything be automated but that makes the game not fun. I only gave it about 60 minutes because I did not want to lose refund. Might be worth it if you are willing to look up videos on youtube to figure out how to play and not have everything done for you.
Best 4X ever !!! Enjoy his macroscale gameplay and learn how to rule the galaxy starting from scratch. Technically most problems from initial release are gone... enjoy it !
