This experience has two settings, one for discovery/exploration and one for game play. In the discovery setting, users explore King Tut’s tomb, gathering information about the artifacts and artwork through a series of text/audio bubbles. In the game setting, users have about three minutes to navigate the tomb to gather treasures. Middle school students can work in groups of four using the discovery setting to compare and contrast the virtual tomb with historical images found online. Students were motivated to find out more about the art, archaeology, and science of ancient Egypt.
The textures look like blown-up JPG files which pretty much ruins the VR experience of being there. Can't argue with free, but there are so many other free things with greater wow factor. I love the concept, however, and would be excited to do more things like this if there was more to learn, was more engaging to learn it, and felt more realistic with better textures.
Так себе.
It's educational, but short. Seems spooky, but isn't.
Чисто на саркофаг с мумией в золотом футляре глянуть.
This is a so-so gawking simulator where you can explore 3 egyptian tomb rooms and learn about some things there. If you're a fan of going to museums, you will enjoy the 4 minutes you spend in this game. The sound design is really the high point, it's a lovely creepy underground experience. There's also a strangely inappropriate tomb robbing mode where you basically grab everything in the tomb before time runs out. It's not exactly Indiana Jones, but it made me smile. It's free and doesn't belabor itself, so why not, give it a try.
